Writing Tag

Well, this is embarrassing… last year in January,ย Eloise over at Highly Improbableย tagged me to do this writing prompt. I wrote out all my answers and somehow, it ended up in my draft folder instead of being posted.ย ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Better late than never…? Heh. Anyway, here it is now:

The rules are simple; think of a writing project you have and answer the questions below, and then tag another blogger or bloggers to do it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll be doing this tag with my The Lucid Trilogy (or it might be one massive book with three Acts; we’ll see when I actually finish it ๐Ÿ˜‚).

1. A crazy hackerโ€™s gone into your computer and has deleted all of your music, except for one song off of your writing playlist. Which song is it?

Well. After the panic… ๐Ÿ˜… Awake by Bianca Ryan. I love that song anyway, but it will most likely be the theme of The Awakening, which will be the third book of my The Lucid Trilogy; or the third act, whichever it ends up being. ๐Ÿ™‚

2. Your protagonist and antagonist have been paired up by friends to go out to lunch together. Where do they go?

I have multiple protagonists and antagonists. However, I think they could agree to take a picnic lunch to the park – which is really just an underground cavern with outdoor scenery projected onto the walls. (In the novel, there was a natural disaster or maybe a manmade one that forced everyone to live underground. I haven’t decided for sure which one it is.)

3. Youโ€™re crossingย a bridge when the troll living under it stops you. He demands to read a chapter from your novel, and wonโ€™t let you cross otherwise. Which chapter do you give him?

Oh, that is really hard. Chapter Three of Night Terror (or Act Two) probably. Piper’s character gets really deep here, as she thinks about her past, and goes through sort of a dark night of the soul. My hope is to break the troll’s heart so he will let me pass. ๐Ÿ˜„

4. Your friends have invited you out to a party. Surprise! All of your characters are there. Who do you choose to hang out with?

Vytas. He is very complex. Maybe if I hung out with him a while, it would be easier to get in his head for when I start writing the next book // act… ๐Ÿ˜„

5. Oh no. You left your car keys in your house, and youโ€™ve (somehow) locked yourself out. Which of your characters picks the lock for you?

Linton, hands down. (He’s a thief so he would be most likely to know what he is doing. ๐Ÿ˜‚)

6. The zombie apocalypse is happening right now. (It’s awful.) Everyone is fleeing the planet, and moving to Mars. ONE of your characters can go with you. Who do you choose?

NOOOOO ONLY ONE? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Selah. She has a knack for growing stuff and cooking it. Maybe then we won’t starve on Mars.

7. Youโ€™ve been given the opportunity to travel to one place (town, building, landmark, country) in your book. Where do you go?

The DreamWorld. Hands down. It would be incredible to be in a lucid dream for a while. Just as long as I can wake up.๐Ÿ˜…

8. You meet your main character and start a conversation with them. Problem is, youโ€™ve only got six words or less to do so. What do you say?

Don’t surrender; Jesus is with you.

9. Crazy acid rain is falling from the sky. Which of your characters would you use as an umbrella?

Vytas. I would explain why, but it would ruin a plot point… ๐Ÿ˜‚

10. Youโ€™re out at a restaurant with your main character, and the time has come to order dessert. What do you order for them?

Whatever they would like! But I think a chocolate cheesecake would probably be acceptable. ๐Ÿ˜

I tag: Keri L,ย Diana,ย Cathy, and anyone reading this who would like to do it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Don’t feel like you have to do this, but I know that you all write novels, so I thought you might like to try it out.ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Christmas Tag

Thank you to Carly at Message in Stanza for nominating me for the Christmas Tag! Oh, this is going to be so much fun! ๐Ÿ˜€

The rules:

  • Thank the person that nominated you with a link to their blog
  • Add the picture in your blog
  • Copy these rules into your post
  • Add a link to this original post (littlediyprojects.wordpress.com/thechristmastag)
  • Answer the 10 questions (you can add extra Christmas-related questions if you want)
  • Tag at least 3 other bloggers with links to their blogs
  • Have fun!

The Questions:

  1. Whatโ€™s your favourite thing about Christmas?
    • Celebrating Christ’s birth with my family. โค
  2. Whatโ€™s your favourite Christmas memory?
    • Two comes to mind: One Christmas at my grandparents when I or my cousin opened a HUGE present, the box it came in was left unattended. So I had this brilliant idea to crawl inside it and close myself up in it and wait to see how long it took for someone to notice I was missing. ๐Ÿ˜†ย It seemed like AGES to young me, but it probably wasn’t that long. But it did get the intended panic reaction that I was going for. ๐Ÿ˜‚
    • There was one Christmas that I thought it was a fantastic idea to refill the hairspray bottle with water and soap. (I was quite a prankster. ๐Ÿ˜…) When my parents were getting ready to go to my grandparents, they kept on complaining about how the hairspray wasn’t working and it smelled like soap. ๐Ÿ˜†ย Finally, they figured it out after they had soaked theirย heads with it and my dad was like, “You’re not getting any presents this year!” But they didn’t go through with that and they let me open them anyway when we got there. And we got there late because they had to take a shower to rinse the soap off. And the best part was them explaining to every person who asked themย whyย we were late, and everyone thought it was hilarious, except for my parents. And for some reason, they started buying hairspray in aerosol cans after that… I can’t imagine why… ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ (I was such a mischievous child, I’m so thankful to have parentsย with so much patience. ๐Ÿ˜Š)
  3. Are there special traditions your family has for Christmas?
    • Not really. When I was younger we used to drive around and look at all the lights and decorations.
  4. Whatโ€™s your Christmas wish? (Can be personal or general)
    • That everyone will have a Merry Christmas and not get too caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays!
  5. Whatโ€™s your favourite Christmas dish?
    • Hard question… maybe chicken and dressing? Though I LOVE smoked turkey. However, we only have that on Thanksgiving now, so I guess that doesn’t count.
  6. Whatโ€™s your favourite Christmas decoration?
    • Manger scenes and stars. ๐Ÿ™‚ There is one house around here that puts up the biggest star I’ve ever seen. No other decorations but the star. It must be at least eight feet tall, maybe taller!
  7. Whatโ€™s your favourite Christmas song?
    • I can only pick one?! I really do love O Holy Night. But I have many favorites, as you may or may not have seen from the Christmas countdown posts I’ve been posting.
  8. Where do you usually celebrate Christmas?
    • We used to celebrate at my grandparent’s house, but now we celebrate at home.
  9. What does the โ€˜Christmas Spiritโ€™ mean to you?
    • Being grateful Him being born, and being filled with His peace and joy. โค
  10. Who out of anybody in the world would you want to spend your Christmas with?
    • Jesus – after all, it is His birthday!

Liebster Award – again! โค

Celebrate His Love nominated me for the Liebster Award – thank you, Dori! ๐Ÿ™‚ And I learned that “Liebster” means “favorite one” or “adorable one” in German – I have wondered what that meant, but didn’t think to research it, so thanks for the fun fact! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve seen variations of the rules of this award, but here are the ones that Celebrate His Love had:

  • Thank the nominator
  • Answer the Questions below
  • Nominate others

The Questions:

  1. If you could be any animal on earth, what would it be and why?
    • Probably a cat. They get pampered, they pretty much are king of the jungle – or house, if a house cat. Also, when they fall, they land on their feet most of the time. They seem to have a pretty great life!
  2. If you had to write the soundtrack of your life, what would be the first three songs?
  3. If your death was imminent, what would you choose as your last meal?
    • Some sort of seafood. I’m not choosy about which kind it is, though I do like shrimp…
  4. What movie that has not yet been made would you pay good money to see?
    • I don’t really keep up with movies, but… perhaps a biography based on Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Diebler Rose? I’m really enjoying the book.
  5. What was your favorite age to be and why?
    • Probably ten? It was a nice carefree age.
  6. What is the one book that has most inspired your writing and/or life?
    • The Bible. ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. If you could live anywhere you please, without that pesky restraint called money, where would it be and why?
    • I have no idea. I love the idea of Alaska, but it gets so cold there. Also, my own private tropical island sounds nice, but… I like seasons. So perhaps I’d get an RV so I could travel and live wherever I want on this continent, whether in Alaska or the coast and get to travel to see a lot of God’s creations in person. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Fall Tag

Thank you, Incomplete Thinker, for tagging me to do this tag. It was a lot of fun! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Put the tag badge and rules in your post.
  • Answer the 10 fall-related questions.
  • Tag at least 5 other bloggers to join in the fun!

  1. Whatโ€™s your favourite fall outfit?
    • I really like a scarf my mom gave me a few years ago that has an autumn leaf print. I love wearing a black shirt and a black skirt and wearing it in traditional scarf tradition or tying it around me like a belt. The dark colors make the scarf’s bright orange and red pop!
  2. What is fall weather like where you live?ย
    • Cool and colorful. ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. Your favorite drink to have in the fall?
    • Dark hot chocolate, though hot tea is a close second!
  4. Does your family have any fall traditions? If so, what are they?
    • Not really. We used to gather and split firewood for out wood stove in the fall, but haven’t done that since my dad became ill a few years ago.
  5. What are some activities and events you enjoy going to in the fall months?
    • Probably Thanksgiving at my grandma’s. Walking by her lake in the fall is something I look forward to.
  6. Whatโ€™s your favorite fall-scented candle?
    • I can only pick one?! XD There was one that I smelled last year when looking through candles at Walmart, but I can’t remember the name of it… I think it was like an apple pie. I know it made me hungry. XD
  7. Tell us about one of your favorite fall memories.
    • Oh my, I’m not sure. Perhaps last year, walking beside my grandma’s lake. It was so peaceful and mesmerizing. (And it’s also my header image.) My birthday also happens to be in the fall, so I have the birthday memories too.
  8. What are some fall movies you enjoy watching?
    • I don’t know if this counts, but I have always been quite fond of “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” (Which is ABC is playing tonight.)
  9. Whatโ€™s your favorite fall treat?ย
    • Oh, so many are good. I like candy corn and pumpkin pie.
  10. If you celebrate Halloween, what is the best costume youโ€™ve worn?
    • I used to, but I haven’t in recent years. I think the Wicked Witch of the West was my best, though I always argued that I wasn’t dressing up for Halloween, but for my birthday (which is the day before Halloween – which is tomorrow). I dressed up every year for five years straight as my own version of the Wicked Witch, and I fondly remember the year we went to Walmart to get groceries and I met Glenda, the Good Witch Of The North. XD I was too shy to actually say anything, but it was very amusing when we passed each other in the aisle. XD

I tag…

Even More Awards! โค

This is truly so humbling, y’all. Thanks so much for the nominations! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  โ™ฅ If it’s okay, I’ll skip the “tell three things about yourself” rule for the Mystery Blogger Awards since I am answering a lot of questions here. #rebel Hang onto your hat if you are wearing one; this is going to be a wild ride!

Thank you to Message in Stanza for nominating me for the Awesome Blogger Award for the second time! Maggie over at Dreaming of Guatemala created this awesome award. This is a direct quote from her blog about it: ย โ€œThis is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.โ€

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Include the reason behind the award.
  • Include the banner in your post.
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
  • Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
  • Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
  • Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
  • Let your nominees know that theyโ€™ve been nominated!

Message in Stanza’s Questions:

  1. If you were in a band, what kind of music would you play, what instrument would you play and what would you band name be?
    • Are there pianos in bands? If so, I’d say that, because that’s the only instrument I can half-play. ๐Ÿ˜„ I really like rock music, so I guess some sort of Christian rock music. (I love rock ballads!) Band name… The Rock Band? Like, how Christ is our Rock? ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. What triumphs and obstacles have you faced that has inspired your creativity?
    • God is helping me overcome depression. I still have battles with it on occasion, but He has already won the war! I am so grateful, I can’t help but write Him praises. I wrote one poem that I have yet to publish that really highlights this, I think. The running title is “Cross In My Heart,” so keep your eyes open for that!
  3. What makes you the happiest, family, friends, religion, or being inspired with your creativity?
    • All of those do, but it is only by God’s grace that I can enjoy them. In Him, there is joy!
  4. If you have no fear of death, what would you do?
    • Get up close and personal with some of God’s creation that I would normally stay away from in order to not be lunch. ๐Ÿ˜„ I would pet a tiger, ride an elephant, hang glide with the eagles, swim with sharks – the hang gliding and swimming thing would normally scare me to death, so if I don’t fear death, that is no longer a problem; I’ll just be scared senseless without dying.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚
  5. Would you rather fish or skydive? And why did you pick that one?
    • Fish! Because I am back to being able to die from my fear of heights again. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  6. What bores you to death?
    • Many sports. (Sorry sports fans.) I’d rather play than watch. ๐Ÿ˜„
  7. What is your biggest pet peeve?
    • …just one? ๐Ÿ˜„ When I can’t find something. It makes me nuts. I have a tiny book of nature poems that I misplaced last month and it drove me up the wall that I couldn’t find it. My mom eventually stumbled across it. In the bookcase. Talk about frustrating… ๐Ÿ˜…
  8. If you could choose your last words to your loved ones on you death bed, what would you say?
    • Okay, so… is it sad that this question requires the least amount of thinking of all of these questions thus far? Just a warning, this is going to get a bit dark. These are fragments of a poem that I wrote years ago:
    • Before I depart, there is one thing Iโ€™d like to teach.
As the pendulum goes forth and back,
      It will eventually stop, when the end is reached;
Like a candle soon runs out of wax,
Or the tide washes ashore a beach –
These, my friends, are the facts.

I wish for no one to lament because of me,
I believe that everything happens for a reason,
Even if we know not what that may yet be.
Time will pass, and change will the seasons,
My impending death will not stop these.

So as my spirit is slowly taken away,
To heaven where I may again find peace,
I want you to remember me as today,
Not as the body that will soon cease.

Thank you to Teresa for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award for the third time!

The Rules:

  1. Put the award logo/image on your blog.
  2. List the rules.
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog!
  4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link to their blog as well. Thank you toย Okoto Enigma.
  5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  6. You have to nominate 10-20 people.
  7. Notify each of your nominees by commenting on their blog.
  8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify).
  9. Share your link to your best post(s).

Teresa’s Questions:

  1. If you could change one thing about our country, what would it be and why?
    • That God isn’t taken out of schools. Give the children a chance to know Him, and maybe they will be less likely to go down the wrong path!
  2. Which super hero powers would you like to have, if given a chance? Why?
    • Skye // Daisy from Agents of SHIELD. (I’m not sure what that power is called, but I really like it, it’s quite unique.) I could use that to protect people and also have a little fun when no one needs saving…
  3. What motivates you to blog (write)?
    • My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also enjoy writing for some blogging prompts and challenges.
  4. What is something you like to collect, if anything?
    • Too much over the years! As a kid, it was bottle caps and pennies. Now, I still like old coins – my grandma gave me some of my great uncle’s collection that she inherited and I treasure those. I also collect crosses. I have one whole corner shelf dedicated to crosses. It’s a constant reminder of what He has accomplished. And I have too many books. I can’t forget postcards. I like getting postcards wherever I go, because they are inexpensive and usually have a pretty photo on them. I was lucky when I went to a flea market and found a bunch of old ones from all over the world! And sometimes, my friends send me one when they go someplace. Here is a small sampling from my collection (you should be able to click each one for a larger view):

  5. If given the chance to rename any fast food restaurant, which would it be? What new name would you rename to?
    • Wow, that is such a great, unique question! ๐Ÿ˜„ I’m tempted to say Taco Bell. Why a bell? The bell isn’t made of taco, and the bell isn’t shaped like a taco. It makes no sense. La Casa Grande De Tacos. (Large House of Tacos. I think. Thank you to my friend who is more fluent in Spanish than I am for helping me figure out how to say that in Spanish!) That makes more sense!

Thank you to Maggie for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award for the fourth time!

Maggie’s Questions:

  1. What is something you used to despise, but actually quite like now?
    • Westerns. The Rifleman, Gunsmoke and Bonanza are pretty good sometimes.
  2. When was the last time you laughed really hard?
    • When I was talking to a friend online and I made a typo and auto-correct failed me and made it even worse. XD
  3. Whatโ€™s the best book that you read recently? Why did you enjoy it?
    • That’s hard! I haven’t finished Humility by Andrew Murray or Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper yet, but I really like them so far. The last book I finished was Black by Ted Dekker and it was so great! I also love the author’s ability to create such an interesting world and plot!
  4. Name 5 of your favorite movies.
    • In no particular order: On The Town, Sound of Music, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,ย  The Hunger Games,ย  It’s A Wonderful Life.
  5. What are you the most thankful for?
    • Jesus! Without Him, I am nothing and I would have nothing.

Thank you to Hannah for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award for the fifth time!

Hannah’s Questions:

  1. If you had one wish, what would it be?
    • That everyone would have a chance to hear the Gospel. ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. If you could get a sequel/extra series to a film or a show that is no longer on air, what would you choose?
    • Revolution. NBC cut the show without ending it. Now I will never know what happened! I liked Charlie; she reminded me a little of Katniss from the Hunger Games.
  3. Who would you choose to be your alter ego and why?
    • Hard question! In a way, I guess I already have one. I am Grace, but Penelope Payne has been my online alter ego since 2009. I don’t know if that counts? If not, then… Skye // Daisy or “Quake” from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I would have too much fun with that…
  4. If you could meet any person in history, who would it be and what would you ask them?
    • Jesus. ๐Ÿ™‚ “Why did you create mosquitoes?!” “Why did you create poison ivy?” ๐Ÿ˜‚ Okay, seriously… “What did You write in the dirt?” (In reference to John chapter 8 verse 6.)
  5. What is your favourite band?
    • There are so many I adore, but lately, I love Rend Collective. A lot.

I’d like to thank Elizabeth from The Comfortable Coop for nominating me for the Real Neat Blog Award! This is my first time receiving this one. ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Is there something that you do that makes you really happy when youโ€™re feeling down?
    • Praying and talking to friends. ๐Ÿ™‚ Writing and reading also helps.
  2. Is there someone (real or fictional) who inspires you? Who is it and why does this person inspire you?
    • Jesus! ๐Ÿ™‚ He died for me, so that I may live for Him. Also, He has done so many wonderful things – how can I not be inspired by Him?
  3. Do you spend a lot of time listening to, reading, or watching the news?
    • No. Not at all. It’s too depressing.
  4. Are you a night owl or a morning person?
    • Night owl. I’ve tried being a morning person, but unless morning can start happening around noon, it’s probably not going to happen. XD LOL. I am my most creative at night. ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?
    • This is going to take a while! I have 17 cats: Angel, Belle, Blackie, Catalina, Dottie, Firecracker, Gabbie, Jay, Lolli, Mama Kitty, Monkey, Ode, Rabbit, Radar, Simone, Sketcher, and Sparrow. I also have two opossums that hangs around that I call Prim and Philip, and a raccoon that hangs around that I call Rocky. There is a rabbit that has been hanging around too, but I haven’t named him // her yet. Oh, and a toad has been sitting on the porch-step for the last six days during the afternoons, and I may name him Domino.
  6. Do you talk to yourself out loud?
    • Yes. ๐Ÿ˜‚ You gotta talk to someone intelligent sometimes. (That’s what my grandma said about it. XD I’m not that boastful, I promise!) I also talk to animals as if they were humans…
  7. ย Is Jesus your savior?
    • Yes! โค

Rapid Fire Book Tag

Rapid Fire Book Tag

Thanks for tagging me, Hannah! Sorry I’m a bit late in responding to this; I wrote it out and saved it as a draft and just realized I didn’t publish it. Oops. XD This was so fun to do! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Ebooks or Physical Books?
    • Physical books! Nothing like holding the book in my hands, flipping pages, and if the book is old, there is that lovely smell!
  • Paperbacks or Hardbacks?
    • Hardbacks! They are not flimsy when I pick them up and they are harder to damage, and I’ve been known to drop and dent books before…
  • Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
    • In store, if they have it. I’ve found that many times, the stores don’t have them, so I go to eBay if that happens. XD
  • Trilogies or Series?
    • Hmm… I really love series. But trilogies are great too! Uh… series!
  • Heroes or Villains?
    • Heroes! ๐Ÿ˜€
  • A Book You Want Everyone to Read?
    • The Bible!
  • Recommend an Underrated Book
    • The White Witch by Janet Grube. I don’t understand why so many people on Goodreads rated it one star. It was one of my favorites. (It was about the plague in the 1600’s and a girl who was accused of being a witch. It was a great historical fiction novel. I’ve read it several times.)
  • The Last Book I Finished
    • Black by Ted Dekker. It was so good.
  • Weirdest Thing You Have Used as a Bookmark?
    • After ripping open the Kleenex box, I stuck the cardboard remains in a book. Does that count? XD Also, when someone gave me a book, I kept the little gift tag and used it as a bookmark. Oh, and there was the time I used a Goodwill receipt – but I was on the way home in the car and had no bookmark, so it was either wait to read or that.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚
  • Used Books, Yes or No?
    • YES! YESYESYESYES – **ahem**
  • Top Three Favorite Genres?
    • Only three?! Uh… Christian, Historical, and Fantasy.
  • Borrow or Buy?
    • I usually buy, because we don’t go by where the library is often.
  • Characters or Plot?
    • Tough one! Plot, I guess? There have been times I didn’t like the character but the plot was good, so I kept going, but if the plot isn’t good, I’m not sure if a good character or setting would be enough to redeem it.
  • Long or Short Books?
    • Long! It takes a while to finish, but it’s worth it!
  • Long or Short Chapters?
    • Medium! #rebel Actually, short. Long is good too, but… short makes it easier to find a stopping place, haha. Or, long chapters divided into several parts like Winds of Promise (by Thoene) seems to do sometimes.
  • Name the First Three Books You Think Of
    • Switch by Ingrid Law, Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper and Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose.
  • Books That Make You Laugh or Cry
    • Savvy by Ingrid Law made me laugh several times – it was great. The last book of Narnia almost made me cry. It was that good.
  • Our World or Fictional Worlds?
    • ACK. That’s hard. XD I love both, really, but I appreciate fictional worlds so much. Especially so after many attempts at creating some that failed miserably.
  • Audiobooks, Yes or No?
    • I’ve never tried an audio book, so I’m not sure.
  • Do You Ever Judge a Book By Its Cover?
    • …yes I have. I try not to, but it has happened, haha.
  • Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
    • Yikes, that is hard too! Um… perhaps book to movie, because it seems like most of the time, they stick closer to the book.
  • Series or Standalones?
    • I CAN’T DO IT. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Both are really great, but I do like that standalones end, while many series keep on going. However, I love so many series. I guess I’ll go with series. XD

The Awesome Blogger Award

The Awesome Blogger Award

[created by Maggie]

This is an award forย the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way toย add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers.ย That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

Thank you Maggie for nominating me with this award! I’m so honored to not only receive it, but be among the first to receive it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. What impact do you want to have on the world?
    • I want to tell people about Jesus’ love and lift people’s spirits. But because it’s hard for me to speak to people I don’t know, it’s not often I get to do that. However, it turns out that WordPress is a way to do that which doesn’t make me a nervous wreck. ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. What is your vision for your blog in the next six months? (future posts, design, etc)
    • As for future posts, I will probably continue with poems, photos, and responding to some prompts, and my goal is to somehow give some glory to God in those. However, I may start including a book review now and then. Just every once in a while. I love to read. And I finished Hind’s Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard and Black by Ted Dekker not long ago.
    • As for the design… I’ve considered changing the theme, but… I really do like BookLite, and I loooove having a header image, and I don’t want to give that up. But it would be a space saver to have a menu on the side instead of cramming it all on the bottom. I’ve considered changing to the Collinear theme (which one of my favorite bloggers is using here) but I couldn’t bear to do it yet. XD
  3. Where is somewhere you would love to go?
    • The Rockies or the Ozarks – I love the mountains. Or maybe the beach. I haven’t seen the ocean yet and I would like to. ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
    • My Lord saved me from the stormy seas. If you want to read more about that: My Lifeguard The second most is probably when a friend drove through like, three states just to visit me. ๐Ÿ˜Š โค
  5. If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be?
    • That’s a hard one! Probably witness Jesus teach. Perhaps when He gave the Sermon on the Mount?
  6. What is a skill youโ€™d like to learn? Why?
    • Speak Spanish! I’ve always wanted to learn a second language, and I picked Spanish. But I haven’t gotten very far yet.
  7. What are you most grateful for?
    • I was kidnapped, and an Amazing Guy paid my ransom. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you want to read more about that nice thing: He Paid My Ransom. (I feel like I’m advertising my past blog posts at this point… XD )
  8. If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?
    • The Gospel. ๐Ÿ™‚ (If I don’t die from stage fright first. ๐Ÿ˜…)

…I cannot contain my joy, my elation
I want to spread His Word far and wide
Make sure that everyone in every nation
Gets a chance to feel His warmth inside…
[taken from His Loving Warmth In My Soul]

  9. Which activities make you lose track of time?
    • Computer games and blogging. I don’t play computer games much anymore because they tend to eat up all my free time like the little dude in pac-man eating all those little circles until he gets eaten. XD But I have found that I love WordPress and the community here. Sometimes I can’t sleep and I’ll be reading blogs until 3AM. Oops.
  10. What is the difference between being alive and truly living?
    • I heard a quote once: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Being alive is counting the years, the quality; truly living is seeing the quality in the years you’ve lived, and what you use the years for, if that makes sense. ๐Ÿ™‚

I struggled inside, simply to survive
I didnโ€™t know how it was to be alive
All I was doing was existing
And foolishly continued resisting
When in Christ, I could have strived

My Nominees:

Alan R. Kive – What a creative idea of using ideas written on sticky notes in posts. ๐Ÿ™‚ P.S.: I’ll be the first to leave a mark on your Leave Your Mark page with a pingback! XD #rebel

Too Comfortable – I love the concept of this blog, that we should not be afraid to be uncomfortable for Christ’s sake.

Message in Stanza – There is such beautiful poetry here.

Daily Thankful – One post per day about something to be thankful for. Reminds me of, “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15)

The Psalmist – Praising God every day with songs and poems.

Keri L. – Poetry, short stories, and more. If you haven’t read The Artist, I recommend that you do. It was fantastic.

Hannah – She takes such awesome photos, and I enjoyed reading her recommendations for books and I especially liked her post about classic movie musicals! ๐ŸŽต Siiiinging in the rain, just siiiiinging in the rain… ๐ŸŽถ

Maggie – You know I had to nominate you on your birthday! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I really love your blog – you are amazing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ๐ŸŽŠ
