Even More Awards! β€

This is truly so humbling, y’all. Thanks so much for the nominations! πŸ™‚Β  β™₯ If it’s okay, I’ll skip the “tell three things about yourself” rule for the Mystery Blogger Awards since I am answering a lot of questions here. #rebel Hang onto your hat if you are wearing one; this is going to be a wild ride!

Thank you to Message in Stanza for nominating me for the Awesome Blogger Award for the second time! Maggie over at Dreaming of Guatemala created this awesome award. This is a direct quote from her blog about it: Β β€œThis is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.”

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Include the reason behind the award.
  • Include the banner in your post.
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
  • Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
  • Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
  • Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
  • Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated!

Message in Stanza’s Questions:

  1. If you were in a band, what kind of music would you play, what instrument would you play and what would you band name be?
    • Are there pianos in bands? If so, I’d say that, because that’s the only instrument I can half-play. πŸ˜„ I really like rock music, so I guess some sort of Christian rock music. (I love rock ballads!) Band name… The Rock Band? Like, how Christ is our Rock? πŸ˜‰
  2. What triumphs and obstacles have you faced that has inspired your creativity?
    • God is helping me overcome depression. I still have battles with it on occasion, but He has already won the war! I am so grateful, I can’t help but write Him praises. I wrote one poem that I have yet to publish that really highlights this, I think. The running title is “Cross In My Heart,” so keep your eyes open for that!
  3. What makes you the happiest, family, friends, religion, or being inspired with your creativity?
    • All of those do, but it is only by God’s grace that I can enjoy them. In Him, there is joy!
  4. If you have no fear of death, what would you do?
    • Get up close and personal with some of God’s creation that I would normally stay away from in order to not be lunch. πŸ˜„ I would pet a tiger, ride an elephant, hang glide with the eagles, swim with sharks – the hang gliding and swimming thing would normally scare me to death, so if I don’t fear death, that is no longer a problem; I’ll just be scared senseless without dying.Β πŸ˜‚
  5. Would you rather fish or skydive? And why did you pick that one?
    • Fish! Because I am back to being able to die from my fear of heights again. πŸ˜‚
  6. What bores you to death?
    • Many sports. (Sorry sports fans.) I’d rather play than watch. πŸ˜„
  7. What is your biggest pet peeve?
    • …just one? πŸ˜„ When I can’t find something. It makes me nuts. I have a tiny book of nature poems that I misplaced last month and it drove me up the wall that I couldn’t find it. My mom eventually stumbled across it. In the bookcase. Talk about frustrating… πŸ˜…
  8. If you could choose your last words to your loved ones on you death bed, what would you say?
    • Okay, so… is it sad that this question requires the least amount of thinking of all of these questions thus far? Just a warning, this is going to get a bit dark. These are fragments of a poem that I wrote years ago:
    • Before I depart, there is one thing I’d like to teach.
As the pendulum goes forth and back,
      It will eventually stop, when the end is reached;
Like a candle soon runs out of wax,
Or the tide washes ashore a beach –
These, my friends, are the facts.I wish for no one to lament because of me,
I believe that everything happens for a reason,
Even if we know not what that may yet be.
Time will pass, and change will the seasons,
My impending death will not stop these.

So as my spirit is slowly taken away,
To heaven where I may again find peace,
I want you to remember me as today,
Not as the body that will soon cease.

Thank you to Teresa for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award for the third time!

The Rules:

  1. Put the award logo/image on your blog.
  2. List the rules.
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog!
  4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link to their blog as well. Thank you toΒ Okoto Enigma.
  5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  6. You have to nominate 10-20 people.
  7. Notify each of your nominees by commenting on their blog.
  8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify).
  9. Share your link to your best post(s).

Teresa’s Questions:

  1. If you could change one thing about our country, what would it be and why?
    • That God isn’t taken out of schools. Give the children a chance to know Him, and maybe they will be less likely to go down the wrong path!
  2. Which super hero powers would you like to have, if given a chance? Why?
    • Skye // Daisy from Agents of SHIELD. (I’m not sure what that power is called, but I really like it, it’s quite unique.) I could use that to protect people and also have a little fun when no one needs saving…
  3. What motivates you to blog (write)?
    • My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. πŸ™‚ I also enjoy writing for some blogging prompts and challenges.
  4. What is something you like to collect, if anything?
    • Too much over the years! As a kid, it was bottle caps and pennies. Now, I still like old coins – my grandma gave me some of my great uncle’s collection that she inherited and I treasure those. I also collect crosses. I have one whole corner shelf dedicated to crosses. It’s a constant reminder of what He has accomplished. And I have too many books. I can’t forget postcards. I like getting postcards wherever I go, because they are inexpensive and usually have a pretty photo on them. I was lucky when I went to a flea market and found a bunch of old ones from all over the world! And sometimes, my friends send me one when they go someplace. Here is a small sampling from my collection (you should be able to click each one for a larger view):

  5. If given the chance to rename any fast food restaurant, which would it be? What new name would you rename to?
    • Wow, that is such a great, unique question! πŸ˜„ I’m tempted to say Taco Bell. Why a bell? The bell isn’t made of taco, and the bell isn’t shaped like a taco. It makes no sense. La Casa Grande De Tacos. (Large House of Tacos. I think. Thank you to my friend who is more fluent in Spanish than I am for helping me figure out how to say that in Spanish!) That makes more sense!

Thank you to Maggie for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award for the fourth time!

Maggie’s Questions:

  1. What is something you used to despise, but actually quite like now?
    • Westerns. The Rifleman, Gunsmoke and Bonanza are pretty good sometimes.
  2. When was the last time you laughed really hard?
    • When I was talking to a friend online and I made a typo and auto-correct failed me and made it even worse. XD
  3. What’s the best book that you read recently? Why did you enjoy it?
    • That’s hard! I haven’t finished Humility by Andrew Murray or Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper yet, but I really like them so far. The last book I finished was Black by Ted Dekker and it was so great! I also love the author’s ability to create such an interesting world and plot!
  4. Name 5 of your favorite movies.
    • In no particular order: On The Town, Sound of Music, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe,Β  The Hunger Games,Β  It’s A Wonderful Life.
  5. What are you the most thankful for?
    • Jesus! Without Him, I am nothing and I would have nothing.

Thank you to Hannah for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award for the fifth time!

Rules:

Hannah’s Questions:

  1. If you had one wish, what would it be?
    • That everyone would have a chance to hear the Gospel. πŸ™‚
  2. If you could get a sequel/extra series to a film or a show that is no longer on air, what would you choose?
    • Revolution. NBC cut the show without ending it. Now I will never know what happened! I liked Charlie; she reminded me a little of Katniss from the Hunger Games.
  3. Who would you choose to be your alter ego and why?
    • Hard question! In a way, I guess I already have one. I am Grace, but Penelope Payne has been my online alter ego since 2009. I don’t know if that counts? If not, then… Skye // Daisy or “Quake” from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I would have too much fun with that…
  4. If you could meet any person in history, who would it be and what would you ask them?
    • Jesus. πŸ™‚ “Why did you create mosquitoes?!” “Why did you create poison ivy?” πŸ˜‚ Okay, seriously… “What did You write in the dirt?” (In reference to John chapter 8 verse 6.)
  5. What is your favourite band?
    • There are so many I adore, but lately, I love Rend Collective. A lot.

I’d like to thank Elizabeth from The Comfortable Coop for nominating me for the Real Neat Blog Award! This is my first time receiving this one. πŸ˜€

  1. Is there something that you do that makes you really happy when you’re feeling down?
    • Praying and talking to friends. πŸ™‚ Writing and reading also helps.
  2. Is there someone (real or fictional) who inspires you? Who is it and why does this person inspire you?
    • Jesus! πŸ™‚ He died for me, so that I may live for Him. Also, He has done so many wonderful things – how can I not be inspired by Him?
  3. Do you spend a lot of time listening to, reading, or watching the news?
    • No. Not at all. It’s too depressing.
  4. Are you a night owl or a morning person?
    • Night owl. I’ve tried being a morning person, but unless morning can start happening around noon, it’s probably not going to happen. XD LOL. I am my most creative at night. πŸ™‚
  5. Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?
    • This is going to take a while! I have 17 cats: Angel, Belle, Blackie, Catalina, Dottie, Firecracker, Gabbie, Jay, Lolli, Mama Kitty, Monkey, Ode, Rabbit, Radar, Simone, Sketcher, and Sparrow. I also have two opossums that hangs around that I call Prim and Philip, and a raccoon that hangs around that I call Rocky. There is a rabbit that has been hanging around too, but I haven’t named him // her yet. Oh, and a toad has been sitting on the porch-step for the last six days during the afternoons, and I may name him Domino.
  6. Do you talk to yourself out loud?
    • Yes. πŸ˜‚ You gotta talk to someone intelligent sometimes. (That’s what my grandma said about it. XD I’m not that boastful, I promise!) I also talk to animals as if they were humans…
  7. Β Is Jesus your savior?
    • Yes! ❀

Rapid Fire Book Tag

Rapid Fire Book Tag

Thanks for tagging me, Hannah! Sorry I’m a bit late in responding to this; I wrote it out and saved it as a draft and just realized I didn’t publish it. Oops. XD This was so fun to do! πŸ˜€

  • Ebooks or Physical Books?
    • Physical books! Nothing like holding the book in my hands, flipping pages, and if the book is old, there is that lovely smell!
  • Paperbacks or Hardbacks?
    • Hardbacks! They are not flimsy when I pick them up and they are harder to damage, and I’ve been known to drop and dent books before…
  • Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
    • In store, if they have it. I’ve found that many times, the stores don’t have them, so I go to eBay if that happens. XD
  • Trilogies or Series?
    • Hmm… I really love series. But trilogies are great too! Uh… series!
  • Heroes or Villains?
    • Heroes! πŸ˜€
  • A Book You Want Everyone to Read?
    • The Bible!
  • Recommend an Underrated Book
    • The White Witch by Janet Grube. I don’t understand why so many people on Goodreads rated it one star. It was one of my favorites. (It was about the plague in the 1600’s and a girl who was accused of being a witch. It was a great historical fiction novel. I’ve read it several times.)
  • The Last Book I Finished
    • Black by Ted Dekker. It was so good.
  • Weirdest Thing You Have Used as a Bookmark?
    • After ripping open the Kleenex box, I stuck the cardboard remains in a book. Does that count? XD Also, when someone gave me a book, I kept the little gift tag and used it as a bookmark. Oh, and there was the time I used a Goodwill receipt – but I was on the way home in the car and had no bookmark, so it was either wait to read or that.Β πŸ˜‚
  • Used Books, Yes or No?
    • YES! YESYESYESYES – **ahem**
  • Top Three Favorite Genres?
    • Only three?! Uh… Christian, Historical, and Fantasy.
  • Borrow or Buy?
    • I usually buy, because we don’t go by where the library is often.
  • Characters or Plot?
    • Tough one! Plot, I guess? There have been times I didn’t like the character but the plot was good, so I kept going, but if the plot isn’t good, I’m not sure if a good character or setting would be enough to redeem it.
  • Long or Short Books?
    • Long! It takes a while to finish, but it’s worth it!
  • Long or Short Chapters?
    • Medium! #rebel Actually, short. Long is good too, but… short makes it easier to find a stopping place, haha. Or, long chapters divided into several parts like Winds of Promise (by Thoene) seems to do sometimes.
  • Name the First Three Books You Think Of
    • Switch by Ingrid Law, Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper and Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose.
  • Books That Make You Laugh or Cry
    • Savvy by Ingrid Law made me laugh several times – it was great. The last book of Narnia almost made me cry. It was that good.
  • Our World or Fictional Worlds?
    • ACK. That’s hard. XD I love both, really, but I appreciate fictional worlds so much. Especially so after many attempts at creating some that failed miserably.
  • Audiobooks, Yes or No?
    • I’ve never tried an audio book, so I’m not sure.
  • Do You Ever Judge a Book By Its Cover?
    • …yes I have. I try not to, but it has happened, haha.
  • Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
    • Yikes, that is hard too! Um… perhaps book to movie, because it seems like most of the time, they stick closer to the book.
  • Series or Standalones?
    • I CAN’T DO IT. πŸ˜‚ Both are really great, but I do like that standalones end, while many series keep on going. However, I love so many series. I guess I’ll go with series. XD

The Awesome Blogger Award

The Awesome Blogger Award

[created by Maggie]

This is an award forΒ the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way toΒ add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers.Β That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

Thank you Maggie for nominating me with this award! I’m so honored to not only receive it, but be among the first to receive it. πŸ™‚

Questions:

  1. What impact do you want to have on the world?
    • I want to tell people about Jesus’ love and lift people’s spirits. But because it’s hard for me to speak to people I don’t know, it’s not often I get to do that. However, it turns out that WordPress is a way to do that which doesn’t make me a nervous wreck. πŸ™‚
  2. What is your vision for your blog in the next six months? (future posts, design, etc)
    • As for future posts, I will probably continue with poems, photos, and responding to some prompts, and my goal is to somehow give some glory to God in those. However, I may start including a book review now and then. Just every once in a while. I love to read. And I finished Hind’s Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard and Black by Ted Dekker not long ago.
    • As for the design… I’ve considered changing the theme, but… I really do like BookLite, and I loooove having a header image, and I don’t want to give that up. But it would be a space saver to have a menu on the side instead of cramming it all on the bottom. I’ve considered changing to the Collinear theme (which one of my favorite bloggers is using here) but I couldn’t bear to do it yet. XD
  3. Where is somewhere you would love to go?
    • The Rockies or the Ozarks – I love the mountains. Or maybe the beach. I haven’t seen the ocean yet and I would like to. πŸ™‚
  4. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
    • My Lord saved me from the stormy seas. If you want to read more about that: My Lifeguard The second most is probably when a friend drove through like, three states just to visit me. 😊 ❀
  5. If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be?
    • That’s a hard one! Probably witness Jesus teach. Perhaps when He gave the Sermon on the Mount?
  6. What is a skill you’d like to learn? Why?
    • Speak Spanish! I’ve always wanted to learn a second language, and I picked Spanish. But I haven’t gotten very far yet.
  7. What are you most grateful for?
    • I was kidnapped, and an Amazing Guy paid my ransom. πŸ™‚ If you want to read more about that nice thing: He Paid My Ransom. (I feel like I’m advertising my past blog posts at this point… XD )
  8. If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?
    • The Gospel. πŸ™‚ (If I don’t die from stage fright first. πŸ˜…)

…I cannot contain my joy, my elation
I want to spread His Word far and wide
Make sure that everyone in every nation
Gets a chance to feel His warmth inside…
[taken from His Loving Warmth In My Soul]

  9. Which activities make you lose track of time?
    • Computer games and blogging. I don’t play computer games much anymore because they tend to eat up all my free time like the little dude in pac-man eating all those little circles until he gets eaten. XD But I have found that I love WordPress and the community here. Sometimes I can’t sleep and I’ll be reading blogs until 3AM. Oops.
  10. What is the difference between being alive and truly living?
    • I heard a quote once: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Being alive is counting the years, the quality; truly living is seeing the quality in the years you’ve lived, and what you use the years for, if that makes sense. πŸ™‚

I struggled inside, simply to survive
I didn’t know how it was to be alive
All I was doing was existing
And foolishly continued resisting
When in Christ, I could have strived
[taken from In The Wink of an Eye]

My Nominees:

Alan R. Kive – What a creative idea of using ideas written on sticky notes in posts. πŸ™‚ P.S.: I’ll be the first to leave a mark on your Leave Your Mark page with a pingback! XD #rebel

Too Comfortable – I love the concept of this blog, that we should not be afraid to be uncomfortable for Christ’s sake.

Message in Stanza – There is such beautiful poetry here.

Daily Thankful – One post per day about something to be thankful for. Reminds me of, “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15)

The Psalmist – Praising God every day with songs and poems.

Keri L. – Poetry, short stories, and more. If you haven’t read The Artist, I recommend that you do. It was fantastic.

Hannah – She takes such awesome photos, and I enjoyed reading her recommendations for books and I especially liked her post about classic movie musicals! 🎡 Siiiinging in the rain, just siiiiinging in the rain… 🎢

Maggie – You know I had to nominate you on your birthday! πŸ˜‰ I really love your blog – you are amazing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎊

20 Things You Might Not Know About MeΒ Tag

Eloise over on Highly Improbable Blog tagged anyone reading, so here we go. πŸ™‚

How tall are you?

Probably as tall as I’m going to get. XD Maybe… 5’6? Taller if I decide to put on heels, which I love but my feet despise – and it has to be thick heels unless you like watching me go splat on the pavement. πŸ˜‚

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what is it?

I mentioned this on the first One Lovely Blog Award, however, this time, I’m posting an example of it – I can write backwards in print and in cursive!

backward-writing

What is your biggest blog-related pet peeve?

Probably when someone wields words to hurt people. That happened a lot last November it seemed, and it’s still happening. 😣 They say that the pen is mightier than the sword, but we shouldn’t be using our keyboard as a weapon to hurt people!

What is your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?

When someone uses Christ’s name in vain. (This also applies to the previous question. But I usually hear it more often than I read it.)

What’s your favorite song?

Only one? XD Uh… there are so many good songs. This one is one of my favorites ever though:

What’s your favorite Etsy shop that isn’t yours?

Uh. Is it bad that I don’t know what an Etsy shop is? **blushes**

What is your favorite way to spend your free time when you are alone?

Probably reading. I just finished reading Black by Ted Dekker (which was amazing) and I’m almost finished with Winds of Promise by Brodie and Brock Thoene. I have a huge stack of books to dive into after that. (I really should get a Goodreads account…)

What’s your favorite junk food?

Chocolate. Specifically, dark chocolate. And pretty much anything covered in it.

Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?

I do! And this may take a while. XD I have one dog named Rosie (shown below) who must think she is a cat, especially when it comes to food. She loves cat food and fish more than anything. o_O And last but not least… I have 17 cats who are as follows: Angel, Belle, Blackie, Catalina (shown below), Dottie, Firecracker, Gabby, Jay, Lolli, Mama Kitty, Monkey, Ode, Rabbit, Radar, Simone, Sketcher, and Sparrow. **whew**

catalina

What are your number one fiction and nonfiction books?

Oh man. Seriously? Haha. At the moment, Black by Ted Dekker is really trying to take over the Narnia series by C. S. Lewis for the Fiction slot, while Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ by John Piper is overtaking The Agony and Glory of the Cross by Charles B. Hodges Jr, and it is entirely possible that Humility by Andrew Murray may overtake them both after I finish it. πŸ™‚

What’s your favorite cosmetic?

Hmm… probably mascara (which I sometimes double as an eyeliner. XD)

When were you last embarrassed? What happened?

Oh boy… a while ago my mom and I went out to eat and I was so shy and nervous that instead of asking the waitress for tea with no ice, I asked for ice with no tea.Β  Strangers do it to me every time without meaning to. XD I’m still getting teased for this, but I can laugh about it now. At the time I just wanted to disappear.

If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tea! πŸ˜€

What’s your favorite movie?

Probably The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Classic. Although, I adore old musicals so Singin’ In The Rain and Yankee Doodle Dandy is right up there with it…

What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep?

I was home schooled and the only one in my “class.” So I guess I was everything at once…? XD Though I think I would have been a blend of class clown, nerd, and loner most likely.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Maybe somewhere in the mountains like the Ozarks or the Rockies. I think I could get fantastic photos there. Though I really want to see the ocean someday, so anywhere near the ocean might be nice too.

PC or Mac?

PC. I’ve never tried a Mac; and the majority of my games and programs wouldn’t work on a Mac anyway.

Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse?

AHAHAHAHAHA- sorry. The last time a boy kissed me, it was Ode, my cat, and he doesn’t count. 😜 I’m single. I’ve never had a boyfriend. Or been on a date.Β  The only affection I get are from pets, and it’s not romantic at all. XD

Favorite celebrity?

I don’t really keep up with Hollywood enough to know…

What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?

Can I cheat like Eloise did? XD I’m already best friends with Eloise (Highly Improbable Blog), Trey (Incorrigibly Cheerful) and Olivia (Refreshing Spirit), and have been since before we all created WordPress blogs. πŸ™‚Β  However, many bloggers I’d like to be best friends with are already talking to me so it could happen yet. ;D

The questions that Tina asked:

  1. What made you want to start a blog? Several of my best friends had blogs, (Links to their blogs above πŸ˜‰) and it seemed like a good idea. πŸ™‚
  2. What is your favorite TV show? This is hard. XD Probably Scorpion. It’s exciting and it usually doesn’t get as gory or disgusting as many TV shows do. (Even if a lot of what they do is probably… not actually possible. πŸ˜‚)
  3. What is your favorite food to cook? Mac & Cheese or Spaghetti. Because usually it turns out edible… XD
  4. What is your biggest fear? I would say being up high or being under water or being in tight spaces, because all of those do scare me but… not as much as losing someone I love. So I’m going with that.
  5. Where were you born? Arkansas, USA! Born and raised, and still live here. πŸ™‚ Country girl at heart. β™₯

Now, for the nominations, I know that some of your have received these awards before, so I’m going to do this a bit differently – instead of nominating someone for one award, the nominees can pick which one of the awards (or tag) they would like to do. No pressure to accept any though. πŸ™‚ So here we go:

One Lovely Blog Award

Thank you so much, Shattered In Him, for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog Award! πŸ™‚ I’m sorry it took me so long post it; I got stuck on thing #5 and it took a while to come up with two more things about me. XD

The Rules

  • Thank the person that nominated you and leave a link to their blog
  • Post about the award
  • Share 7 facts about yourself
  • Nominate at most 15 people
  • Tell your nominees the good news!

7 Facts About Me:

Coming up with facts was harder than I thought; I didn’t want to repeat myself. XD

  1. I can write backwards almost as easily as forwards. Not just in print, but in cursive. It’s strange. And it freaks out some people. And annoys other people, when I give them a message and they have to go find a mirror to read it… πŸ˜‚
  2. I’m shy. I’ve posted 95 posts (now 96 posts – I’m so close to 100!) on my blog thus far, and I never thought I would make even close to that milestone. I was so scared to try this new thing called “blogging” at first. I posted twice in April of 2016 and then completely dropped off the face of the blogoshere in May. XD It’s easier to talk to people in text and I finally decided to go for it and began posting again in June. πŸ™‚ I’m so glad I did!
  3. Until last month, I had not seen Frozen. I am probably one of the few people in America who hadn’t. I identify with Anna so much. Even though I’m shy, I have a tendency to ramble to people I know well and am a bit of a klutz too. Okay, maybe a total klutz. If only I had that red hair…πŸ˜‰
  4. I love snow, but we don’t get it much where I live.Β  β™«β™ͺ Yes, I want to build a snowman. Come on let’s go and play. I never see snow anymore. It’s snow I’m waiting for. I wanna make a display… β™ͺβ™« (Sing to the melody of “Do You Want To Build A Snowman” from the Frozen soundtrack. πŸ˜‚) We finally got about a half an inch last week though! It wasn’t enough for a snowman, unless it could be five inches tall; and when I tried that, it was a powdery, doesn’t-stick-together-to-build-anything-or-even-throw-at-people snow. πŸ˜› At least it was pretty to look at.
  5. I like learning new words. When I read books, I write down the words I don’t know and then look them up and make a list so that I can memorize them. Catawampus, ignominious, lackadaisical, loquacious, mellifluous, pusillanimous – I think cacophony is probably my new favorite right now. XD
  6. This is my sixth award! I feel so honored. πŸ™‚
  7. I live in the Natural State. #southerngirlatheart

Blogger Recognition Award

blogger-reg-award1

Thank you so much, Shower of Blessings, for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award! Β πŸ˜€

The Rules:

  1. Write a post to show your award.
  2. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  3. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  4. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog.
  5. Select other blogs you want to give the award to.

A brief history of how my blog started:

This blog came into existence because a few of my friends have blogs, and I thought it might be a good idea. πŸ™‚ I intended this blog to be half Christian posts and half book reviews and everything else, but lately, I’ve been posting pretty much all ChristianΒ topics so I suppose it has evolved into a mostly Christian blog. I do have a few boo reviews planned for the future though. They are Christian books. πŸ™‚

Advice to new bloggers:

When I started blogging, I new practically nothing about it. I was so lost. Thankfully, my friends helped me out with the setup and figuring out how things work. I discoveredΒ this post by TheDaddyBlitzΒ when someone reblogged it many months ago and it was a life saver. If you have a few minutes to spare, I recommend checking it out. πŸ™‚ Until I read that post, I didn’t even now I had an admin panel! So my first piece of advice would be to read that post, if that counts. πŸ™‚

Secondly, read a lot of blogsΒ so that you can like a lot of blog posts and comment on blogs! That’s how I discovered a lot of blogs, when they like me or comment on my posts. πŸ˜€
