No More

No more fearing my last breath
Jesus had won the war
Victory no longer belongs to death

Forevermore I can live in Him
Prodigal knocked on His door
And He graciously let me in

Even after this body passes me by
His loving sacrifice
Ensures that I will never die

Eternal life is now mine
He paid the price
And my life is Thine

No more fear of tomorrow
For I will live for Jesus today
And behind Him, I always follow

Into eternity, where there is…

No more sickness, no more pain
No more tears to be wiped away
Like windshield wipers in the rain

No more will sin leave stains
In the pure snow white
Fleshly desires will not remain

No more grief, no more sorrow
All sadness had taken flight
All Earthly things, a passing shadow

Your sun shall no more go down; neither shall your moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Isaiah 60:20

Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:4

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4

Special thanks to Pete from God’s Maintenance Man for inspiring this poem (click the link to visit the post). In a post, he said:

Imagine if things were on earth as they are in heaven! No more sickness, no more pain, no tears, no death, and no sorrow.

So I dared to imagine. 🙂 (Also, be sure to visit his other blog, The Psalmist, where he posts his psalms and poetry. 😉)

Jesus Is The Word And The Lord

In the beginning, was the Word
God spoke and the worlds were made
With Him, the world’s foundations laid.
Jesus is the Word and is the Lord

God incarnate, became man
And dwelt among us
The Christ, Jesus
We beheld the I AM

Why do you call Him good?
No one is good but One
So have you seen the Son?
Do you recognize as you should?

Those who saw
Saw the Father above;
His Son, sent in love,
Within Him not a flaw!

Oh, behold His glory!
See that He is life!
There is no strife
With Him, come and see!

Any who do not say that He
Is God come in flesh man
Is not of God – they are damned
An antichrist who seeks to deceive

I profess aloud –
Jesus, God incarnate
He came to compensate
For man’s sin
And will come again
In the clouds

As a judge.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 1:18

Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” John 14:9

So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” Mat 19:17

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Mat 26:39

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these and it’s great to finally have another to post. This is what resulted from study notes of the Gospel with Refreshing Spirit. (You can view her post right here!) Looking forward to the next one. ❤

One Day, You Will Understand

Oh my Lord, I do not know what Your plans are
But one day, I know I will understand
The trials I’ve been through so far
The ones I can barely stand

To walk through –
Where were You?

~~~~~
Oh My little children
You ask where I’ve been
You do not realize what I do
But one day, you shall understand.
Waters you passed though – I not only saw you
All the while, I was there,  silently holding your hand.
Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” John 13:07
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
This was inspired by the April 2018 focus Scripture on Inside Cup (I know – it’s been sitting in my drafts for over a year. O.o Shame on me.) and I never shared it. And then recently I was inspired to expand upon it with the Isaiah verse in mind. Hope you enjoyed. ❤
Take A Pencil To My Spirit
Image Credit: Pixabay
I follow Your outline without worry
Chapter by chapter and verse by verse.
I trust the Author of my story,
For better or for worse
Image Credit: Pixabay
Like an incomplete manuscript.
But I’m a rough draft of my soul –
Please take a pencil to my spirit,
Write and erase to make me whole!
Image Credit: Pixabay
Life gives me character development,
Circumstances give me a plot;
Don’t want to be losing my tint,
Like disappearing ink, just to be a blot.
Outline my novel, oh Lord,
Grab Your mighty pencil!
Glorify Yourself with each Word
And with Your Holy Spirit ink, fill…
I wrote this last February with NaNoWriMo in mind. And with that event just around the corner, I thought this might be a good time to post this poem. 😀
Special thanks to T. R. for helping me with the first stanza – the first draft just didn’t work and she figured out how to fix it! 🙂
I Am His
I Am His
I no longer live
But Christ lives in me.
All I have to give
Is my life, and gladly
I give it to Thee!
I live by faith alone;
I am no longer mine,
I am no longer my own,
But I am Thine –
This body is Thy shrine.
By faith in the Son,
I live my life –
The One who won
Through Sacrifice –
The Savior Jesus Christ
Who died in my place.
His mercy came as a flood
Washing His wondrous grace
Over me, making this child of sod
Into a Child of God.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God. who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19 NASB
I’ve had this written for many months, but I couldn’t get the wording of the last five lines to sound right. Finally, it fell into place – thank you, Jesus! ❤
Keep On The Path
Apple Tree Sapling
A seed was planted in fertile ground.
It was indeed slow growing,
Because tall weeds abounded,
Choking, no longer living or knowing
Jesus; it flirted with seemingly delightful death.
Eyes were opened and God plucked the weeds
And then gave it a Life-Giving Breath –
No, it is not the end of this seed!
Rocks tried to make it harder to grow,
And when it saw how far it came,
Winds of self-consciousness came to blow
And it wilted over in shame.
“But stand tall, My little plant!
I, the Great I am, died for you!
Don’t think of what you can’t
But think of what I can do!
“You should be proud, I’ve brought you far.
Keep on the path that I’ve set for you, little one.
Be satisfied with the plant that you are,
But yet, strive to grow toward the Son.”
My Eyes Are On You
My Eyes Are On You
I know not what to do,
But my eyes are on You
I know not what is planned for me
But I put all of my Trust in Thee
You are with me in my days of struggle.
You are my stronghold in days of trouble.
I know not what needs to be done
But I keep my eyes on You, The Son
You are with me in our days of delight
And You are with me in my darkest night
In highest peak or in the lowest valley
I know that Your Light will shine on me
I know not what is in the time to come
I only know where my strength comes from
Your Spirit is my guide
In You, I will abide
O our God, wilt Thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon Thee. Second Chronicles 20:12
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him. –Nahum 1:7
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. – Isaiah 9:2
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the Vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me.” John 15:4
I almost feel like this is the sequel to “Jesus Will Be With Me.” Haha. 🙂
I didn’t mean to go this long without posting; I’ve been writing a novel as I mentioned in my last post (and it’s really coming along!), but I’m also having some light sensitivity, which makes it uncomfortable and sometimes painful to look at the screen for long periods of time. Therefore, I’ve been doing my best to keep up with writing my novel and reading your wonderful posts in short bursts throughout the day – while wearing sunglasses 😎 – and I haven’t spent much time in composing posts. 😅 It’s getting better now, so hopefully, I’ll get back to posting at least twice a week. 😊
**Special thanks to Margaret from The Word for posting the Isaiah 9:2 verse. Because of that verse and the timing of the posting, I was able to finish two lines that I was so stuck in finishing. 🙂 (And yes, that is a link in her name if you want to check out her wonderful blog. 😉)
