Asking, Seeking, Knocking

I thought I knew You
But knew another instead
Junk food for the soul
Not nutritiously fed

Eating.

My spirit grew fat on the sugar
And my health deteriorated
On the outside I looked healthy
But inside the lies saturated

Dying.

Then I was fed with Truth
Junk food tasted sweet
But I didn’t want to die –
I drank the milk and moved to meat

Fighting.

I felt as if I weren’t on solid ground
But were standing on sinking sand.
Like the floor was not sound
And I had no helping hand.

ASKING.

What is truth
And what is lies
Who is the Rock?
Oh hear my cries!

Praying.

I trusted no one, feeling like
I went from a dream to awake.
Is this You or is that You?
Which is real? What is fake?

SEEKING.

You will reveal Yourself
To those who seek
That was a promise
To the humble and meek.

KNOCKING.

I looked through the pages
And read the words
Ate the book, found You
The milk did not turn to curds

Worshipping.

Your words are not sour
You truly bring life to my spirit
Your words are sweet to taste
And keep me from the pit

Singing.

I praise You for bringing
Your light into me
And saving my soul
And shining through me

Living.

I will follow You
Death cannot find me
Perhaps I’ll sleep for a time
But You will raise me

Everlasting.

I feel like I need to apologize to mom… using her delicious sundaes and Oreo cake as an example of unhealthy foods. 😅  They sure were good though! And that’s also mom’s ground turkey stew and seasoned chicken and veggies.

Good stuff. And she made enough for an army. I ate it for lunch and dinner every day for days and I’m not complaining. It was a delight. 😋

Hope you enjoyed and see you around! ❤

The Sunshine Blogger Award

sunshine-award1

Thank you so much Jsant1214 for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! I’m so honored. 🙂

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you.
  2. Answer the questions from your nominator.
  3. Nominate fellow bloggers you follow.
  4. Give them 10 questions to answer.

Q&A:

  1. What is your favorite place that you’ve traveled so far?
    • I really loved Queen Wilhelmina Mountain State Park, but it has been many years since I have last been. There was a really nice nature trail there (it was called “Lovers Leap” if I remember correctly… or that was the name of the overlook the trail lead to? Either way, it was wonderful, but I am not great at remembering then names XD ), the mountains were BEAUTIFUL and the times we went was when the state fair was there, and that was always fun.
  2. Have you ever been scuba diving?  If not, would you try it?
    • Probably not. I can’t swim and I can’t even put my face under water without feeling like I’m drowning. XD
  3. What is your least favorite food?
    • There isn’t much that I don’t like, but… I don’t like beef or pork much; especially if it’s in steak form. I prefer chicken or turkey or fish. However, I do like a good cheeseburger or hamburger. 🙂
  4. Socks and sandals, fashion crime or completely acceptable?
    • That depends. If it is regular socks, then I’d say it’s an amusing crime. But if it is sandals and toe socks, then that would be acceptable. (Because I have done that. XD )
  5. What’s the craziest experience you’ve had to date?
    • Oh, hard question… probably meeting friends in person that I hadn’t met in person before. It was a good crazy! 🙂
  6. Favorite childhood memory?
    • Just one? Hmm… there was the time when my grandpa bought steamed crab and shrimp with Cajun seasoning (he was from Louisiana, and so he had this every Thursday, and if I happened to visit on a Thursday, he’d get some for me) and this one time we bought some sort of hot sauce to go on it. It was sooooo hot. My grandma told us if it was that hot we shouldn’t eat it, but we did anyway. He had tears rolling down his cheeks, and we were both guzzling sweet tea like crazy insisting that it wasn’t very hot at all. XD
  7. You get your bill at a restaurant and realize they’ve forgot something on it, what do you do?
    • If it is something I really looked forward to, I would quietly and shyly remind them, or if it wasn’t on the bill at all, I’d just order another of whatever they forgot.
  8. What’s your biggest fear?
    • Probably losing someone I love. Since 2012, I’ve lost two grandpas and one grandma. And now my dad is ill, and that scares me to death to even think about.
  9. How many (and which) languages do you know? Fluent, partial or learning?
    • Fluent in English, and learning Spanish. If Sign Language counts, then I am slowly learning it too. 🙂
  10. Which place do you absolutely HAVE TO visit before you die? (Try to pick somewhere you haven’t already been)
    • Probably a state park. I love being out in nature. Not sure if I could pick just one, but… I love forests. Yellowstone might be fun. And Alaska looks very pretty. And I’d love to see the Rocky Mountains.

The Nominees:
