Hello, and welcome to my blog! I am just a girl who is wholeheartedly following Him through the green pastures and beside the still waters. 🙂 If you want to call me by a name, my username is Following Him, my nickname is Penelope, and my real first name is Grace. Whichever you want to call me, I’ll respond to it. 😉

As you may have guessed, the blog’s name was inspired by Psalms 23, one of my favorite of the Psalms:

1: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2: He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3: He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

You’ll find all sorts of random stuff here. I really like to read, so you may find Christian book reviews (some books may be secular at times), some artwork and photos of mine, poetry I’ve written, and some deep thoughts about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 🙂

The header image for this page was taken at my grandma’s lake with my dad’s tripod and my camera’s timer function. It would have been perfect had my socks not twisted up, but oh well. XD

  4. Hello! I love the name of your blog! Psalm 23 is my favorite. There was a time in my life when I was extremely ill and my husband would read it to me. I found so much comfort in those words.
    I can’t wait to start reading your blog!

It’s super neat, and I love your header image!!! 🙂 I’m K.A, as you most likely guessed, ( 😉 ) and I have a lot of animals! 😀 Hehe! But if you’ve looked at my blog, you probably already figured that out! Haha! I have two pigs, 5 dogs, a horse, and three fish, but our family has cows, horses, dogs, chickens, goats, and cats! 🙂 Thanks for looking at my blog!

  11. I just realized your Gravatar photo is a moth. That’s so cool that it has a cross on it! For some reason I never paid close attention to it and thought it was a shark tooth or something with scrimshaw on it. 😂 What type of moth is it?

    • LOL, a shark tooth with a scrimshaw on it would be cool too. 😂 Someone recently identified the moth as a Clymene moth. Until then, I had no idea! But yeah, it is so cool that it has a cross design; I’ve never seen a moth like this until last year and I haven’t seen one since!

      • Oh, that’s cool! I just checked, it lives in my state, although I’ve never seen one before. I used to be really into collecting an raising caterpillars, so I got to learn a lot about different types of moths and butterflies, but I never heard of a Clymene moth!

          • Yeah, it was really cool. One summer I had watched a black swallowtail lay its eggs on some carrot plants. So I collected about 30 of them. I got to see the eggs being laid, the caterpillars hatching out of their eggs, shedding their skin, turning into their chrysalises, hatching out, and flying away! It was so cool to have the opportunity to watch the whole process. Watching them turn into their chrysalis is fascinating. They attach themselves to a stick, and then after a couple days they shed their outer skin. Underneath is the chrysalis. The process of shedding their skin only takes a minute or so. So the only reason I got to witness the process was due to the fact that I raised so many and had the opportunity to watch and wait. They’re were so many of them that I knew they would shed soon, and I’d sit in my room for hours keeping a half an eye on it and waiting. Most of the time I missed it because it happened so fast. Same with them coming out of their chrysalises. The chrysalises would turn transparent the day they were going to hatch, but it only took maybe 10 seconds or so for them to crack it open and come out. I think I only managed to see two actually come out.

  23. Blessed to find another Christian blog! Psalm 23 is the first chapter of the Bible that I memorized since Grade 5. We were asked by our teacher in our English subject to memorize it and then recite it before the class.

    Since then, this psalm never left my memory. I never understood how profound its meaning until I became an adult and eventually a Christian.

    This is the Psalm of my life. I find myself automatically reciting it everytime I am facing a trial.

    What about you? How did you get inspired by Psalm 23?

      Me too. 🙂 This and the Lord’s Prayer are the ones I go to when facing a trial.

      It’s my favorite Psalm. I love how it talks about the Good Shepherd and how He takes care of His sheep. It’s so comforting. ❤ I always want to follow Him. 🙂
