I found these photos in my archives from spring and surprisingly, I don’t think I ever posted them.
I wanted to get photos of my mom’s lilies while in full bloom.
It was in this photo that I realized that someone was photo-bombing me, though after downloading them, I realize it could be seen in the previous photos too:
So I zoomed in:
Hello there, little bug! 😀
I don’t know what kind of bug this is, but he was patient and let me get very close:
He didn’t seem to be hurting my mom’s flowers, so I let him be. 🙂
🌷 Spring Has Sprung! 🌺
The flowers show God’s artistry,
As new growth and plants have begun,
To reach for the warm sun!
Ah, how I am amazed by Thee!
It’s also that time of year when new discoveries
Are common on my little walks through nature;
In this case, they are oddball shapes in trees.
And you know I had to take photos for sure!
This is in response to Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge – Spring or Wood. In this case, it will be Spring and Wood (in the form of trees) because I’m including both. 🙂 I’m starting off the gallery with my grandma’s hot magenta azaleas:
My grandma’s azaleas are going a bit crazy!
I gave my mom the camera, but you know I’m too shy to show my face. 😉
I saw the bee and followed it around, hoping to get a shot. I’m thankful it finally landed!
Maples are coming to life – the leaves are very glossy.
The leaves practically scream “new growth” – they look so fresh.
I found a bug on this one – he may be eating the new growth. Maybe it screams “Fresh Salad!” instead.
I found this little fellow on the ground – I almost stepped on him – and I picked him up. He didn’t seem to mind.
I put him in my hanging basket of wildflowers to eat any bugs that might eat my wildflowers.
Wild Violets are in full bloom.
This is what part of our lawn currently looks like – I plan to dig some up before my mom mows them all down.
These pretty flowers have leaves like clovers – I really like them, whatever they are.
I found this growing in my grandma’s yard – I don’t know what it is, but I really like it!
A lop-sidded U, perhaps?
A nose or a bird – I saw a nose, my mom saw a bird. 😂
Vine Choking Tree – reminds me oddly enough of a candy cane. 😂
This tree reminds me of a bird’s foot – except it’s missing a talon. Let’s pretend it’s under the leaves.
Meet my new pear tree that grew from a seed this Spring. I didn’t expect it to grow when I planted it, but it did.
Just broke through the soil…
I removed the seed case because for two days it was stuck on there keeping it from spreading its leaves, and didn’t fall off on its own.
Reach for the sun, little guy!
If you saw the name of the photo, you probably think I made a typo, but here’s the story: I name everything. Wildlife that I see often and my plants that I keep around usually ends up with a name. This is a pear tree. I went blank. But my mom came up with it: Peary Mason. (The old book series written by Erle Stanley Gardner and TV series starring Raymond Burr?) I really like that old TV show, and the name stuck. XD
In response to Color Your World – Shocking Pink: Here is a caterpillar I took photos of last spring, on pink blossoms. 🙂 My goal was to get photos of the blossoms – which was not easy because I don’t like heights and I had to stand on a ladder to reach them – and finding the caterpillar up there was like icing on the cake. God really made my week by making sure that little guy was on the blooms at just the right time. 😊 I just wish I had centered the photo a little better; but in my defense, I was gripping the slightly shaky ladder for dear life with my left hand and my right hand was getting really tired of being held over my head and refused to do what I wanted… 😂
Ah, the First Day of Spring! How lovely it is. 💕 (I know, I’m a day late; my allergies attacked me yesterday with a sinus headache, so I didn’t get to post yesterday. 😜) The funny thing is, I’ve had this post planned since last October. That was before I knew about the Color Your World challenge. And what do you know? The flower just happens to be the color of yesterday: Purple Heart. Amazing how some things work out like that… 😂
