Wistful Wildflowers, Shadow Silhouettes, And Silent Sunsets

I took these last year when I went for a peaceful, quiet walk. And with these photos,ย I will participate in four different challenges all at the same time.ย ๐Ÿ˜„ย First, I spotted some tinyย wildflowers.

When in the garden later, I noticed that my bell peppers were starting to produce, and the dying flower petals are kind of close to the Granny Smith Apple color:

I stopped by my onion patch to take a photo, not realizing at first that myย silhouetteย in shadow form was the main star of the photo instead of my onions. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And later on, I saw this sunset, which seems to have most of the colors in this weeks installment of the Color Your World challengeย – except for Granny Smith Apple green.

In The Silence

I rarely share a poem the same day I write it. I usually go though lots of edits and revisions. But I will actually be on time today to make The Daily Post for this one. ๐Ÿ˜€ Like many poems I’ve written, “In The Silence” has an unusual rhyming pattern. ๐Ÿ™‚

In The Silence

I sit down to read, and prepare to learn
I take a lungful of air to clear my head
And I pray for wisdom before I start

To know You better, my spirit yearns
I stare at the cover of bound leather, red
I crave to be near You with my whole heart

Open the Book; the gold-leaf trim glistens
Absorb text as from the pages, they unfurl
Iโ€™m wholly caught up in Your Word

When I quiet my soul and truly listen
When I dampen the noise of the world
Itโ€™s in the silence, I hear You, Lord
