Let Your Light Shine

β€œLet your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

Still looking through my photos, haha. And this verse came to mind so here it is. πŸ™‚ When I’m not as busy, I’ll go back to posting more poetry and longer photo posts.

Have a great week! ❀

BikurGirl, I love this photo so much. Ocean, trees, blue sky, and even some misty mountains in the background. Wow! 😍

We are the light of this planet of blue,
A city on a hill, that cannot be hidden.
Why would we want to conceal it from view,
When to be luminescent, we are bidden?

We do not hide our bright light,
We let it shine for all to perceive!
For someone on a boat may catch sight,
And not fall into the stormy seas!

None lights a candle to hide it – why bother?
For the brilliant gleam must be unfurled,
To see our good works and glorify the Father
In heaven. So we glow for the whole world!

Matthew 5:14 – 16: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Consuming Fire

fire-trinity

Three Points of Fire; reminds me of the Trinity.

His glorious nature is Divine.
Because of His pureness, I learn
How unworthy I am of His love; I cry.

He dug me out of the dirt to refine.
He is a consuming fire; I burn.
In there, my sinful dross dies.

The Son will forever and ever shine.
While on earth, I shall for Him yearn,
Until I get to see Him with my eyes.

There is free will; the choice is mine,
Will I follow the fleshy ways, or will I turn
To Jesus Who ascended into the sky?

My Lord, my Savior, I am Thine.
It is not man’s approval I should earn,
But You, my Savior, who is on High!

Shine And Dazzle

Foggy Morning In Arkansas

You are gold – never dull, You shine like the sun.
But I am silver – I become tarnished by sin.

When asked, You polish me with Your
Blood red cloth so that I reflect You again.

You are a diamond – hardest substance known;
You, Lord, dazzle me with Your brilliance.

I am an uncut stone – shave the worldly lure
From my soul, cut me into Your likeness!
