Waving Hello

It’s week 93 of Three Line Tales, and here is the photo and my response. 🙂 No, this was not inspired by my NaNoWriMo project. Nope. (It totally was…. XD)

On the beach alone, watching the sea wave hello

Here on this island on my own, wishing that I could go

I watch the horizon but no boats appear – it looks as if I am stuck here.

As The Tropical Vacation Ends

It’s week 30 of 100 Word Wednesday, and here is the photo and my response. 🙂 If you’d like to join in, just click the link! 😉

I’m on a tropical vacation
Fruit drink elation
In an island nation.

Sipping by the seaside
Watching the tide
Oh, I must confide,

This relaxes the tired and weary.
And days become bleary,
Then eyes become teary

As I realize that the conclusion
Is nearing its completion.
Reality clears my vision

As I down the last little flute
Say bye to grapefruit,
Reality slowly dilutes…

It seems like I arrive and then blink
Glass empty of drink,
Then it’s time to think…

Of saying to this paradise, “Shalom!”
Of going back to sweet home…
And greeting the garden gnome.

Flying Above The Turtle’s Shell

100 words exactly this week! 🎊

this image came from Unsplash artist Geran de Klerk

I look beneath me to see
An island on a turtle’s shell
Floating haphazardly
Along the ocean’s swells.

What an adventure! But I’d rather fly
Up here in the salty air
Than have my fate decided by
That turtle down there.

For when it finally goes under,
I’d hope that the one who in there dwells
Attached the house firmly, or it will asunder
And the pieces will become driftwood on the swells!

I catch the early morning breeze
And leisurely, on the air currents I drift away;
Flapping feathered wings with ease,
Hoping to see the turtle again someday!

On My Clandestine Island

On my secluded isle.
Away from the hustle,
Away from the bustle,
Of human’s wiles,
Peace exudes.

In my isolated shelter.
Alone with my thoughts,
Companionship is sought,
But I’m protected here.
Friends I miss…

On my clandestine island.
First, I wanted some space,
Now need to leave this place,
But nobody understands
What landed…

Attacks my private refuge,
Convincing me to go under,
To leave my heart asunder.
Blinded to possible rescue –
Is there no win?

In the east,
Son shines on the haven.
I’ll never again be marooned, for
Shadows once blocked the harbor;
But the Light foils dark plans –
Freeing me from the beast.

Island of Peace

Island of Peace

I’m traveling on the open sea
In this rickety boat,
Hoping to stay afloat,
Wondering if it’s the end of me.

This life is this vast ocean,
Wearing us down,
Tearing us down –
Trying to drown us in sin.

I have heard of a refuge of calm.
I really want to get there,
But cannot find it anywhere –
No land to be seen, not even a palm.

Jesus is the Island of Peace.
I did not have to look,
I just had to open a Book –
Oh, will His wonders ever cease?

Once I had read it carefully,
It was quite clear,
He was always here –
Waiting patiently on the shore for me!

There are times I may drift away;
Because of a storm of sin.
But He welcomes me again –
And in His loving arms, I shall stay.
