Oh Lord my God, refine me
Into metals of purity
Let all that is unholy
Drip from me as dross.
I count the world loss
As I pick up my cross.
Pour me into Your cup and fill –
Make my will the shape of Your will!
Write eternity on my heart with Your quill.

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. Zechariah 13:9
And He said to them all, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Jeremiah 31:31-33
Wonderful poem. Thank you for sharing it.
Taking up our cross and dying to ‘self’ is not easy. It is a brutal, ugly affair that takes a long time. I am so thankful for the process and that He leads us through it like a the Good Shepherd He is. May we all accept His refining fires and walk through the trials that will burn off the dross.
Blessings,
Homer Les

I love this theme of refining and purifying. I also love the song Search Me oh God.
How many poems have you written so far, Grace?

Thank you! ❤ Oh I don't think I've heard that song before – I'll have to listen to it. 🙂
A lot. XD Maybe over 100 at this point? And several not yet published. Tomorrow's post is a poem, and I have two more I'll post eventually. This one was more… raw. I was hesitant to post, but my friends encouraged me to so I am. 🙂

Here is one version with lyrics, sung by children.
Do you have the poems in Word doc?
I typed each poem on separate file, create title for each. Then decided on poems I wanted to include in the book.
Later on, I saw that the poems could be grouped in themes, so I created 9 themes. I created 9 folders and put the poem files in each folder. Then, further arranged the order of poems in each folder. I numbered the poems in the folder, such as 1.The Butterfly 2.The Hummingbird. Then the files would line up in that order in the folder.
It would take a long time to do the above, you may want to try it first. 🙂
Let me know how it goes. 🙂
