(Sorry if you are getting this post twice – the post posted back in time. Again. I really need to figure out why this keeps happening.)
Hello everyone! 😀 So, one of the surprises I was going to announce last week and then ended up forgetting to schedule (😅) is that my parents bought me a metal detector for my birthday! It’s a fancy one too. It’s an Ace 300! 😍
Wanna guess what my first find with it was? No, it wasn’t tin foil, a bottle cap, a pull tab off a soda can, or something like that like I was expecting. I’M RICH!
…okay I’m not rich, but I certainly felt like it when I saw a coin. I didn’t expect that. It’s a dime from 1980. I’m not spending this – I’m going to put it in a coin protector sleeve and label it as my first find. 😁
My next few finds were also coins, which I didn’t expect. Another dime (1967), and two quarters (1983 and 1982). Not going to spend these either.
I haven’t found any coins CENTS the first week. 🤣 (Sorry couldn’t resist the pun…) Realistically, the reason I found so many coins may have been that I first detected around the driveway, and my dad probably dropped them when pulling his keys out of his pocket. I’ve found lots of other stuff since that I hope to share next week. Also in this photo, a hook from snow chains. Yay! 😆
A bolt and a screw. I knew that my good luck of finding mostly coins would come to an end. 😂 But I think it’s probably unusual to find this many coins as first finds, so I’m not complaining, and I look forward to the stuff I find in the future, whatever that may be.
And sweet potatoes! 😀 No, these didn’t show up on the metal detector, but I did have to dig them up like treasure so I’m including it in this post. 😆 I didn’t expect such large ones from my potato experiment. I was surprised! 😊
And that’s it for this episode of Treasure Tuesday. 🙂 See ya next week! 💜
