3 Day 3 Quote Challenge Day Seven

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:12-14, NKJV)

Fun fact – that’s my bike. My trusty banana seat bike. ❤ I’ve had her ever since I was a tween and I still ride her sometimes. Her name is SeaStar. (The decals say “SeaStar” so I always have called her that.) This is my “before” photo – I plan to give her some fresh paint sometime because the old is starting to peel off and she’s starting to rust. 😨 And I want to add a basket and a bell and new tassels on the handlebars – I think I pretty much want to try my hand at restoring her.

  1. It would be wonderful to restore your bike 🙂 maybe fun too! A sense of accomplishment. I never learned how to ride a bike. My mom didn’t trust the road we lived on with the cars. I’d like to learn one day.

    • 😀 Yeah! I’m slightly scared to because I want it to look like it would have when it was new; I want to get the paint color right and everything, and I don’t want to wreck it. 😆 But I know it’ll be great to restore it. 🙂

I hope you get to learn someday too! It’s a lot of fun. I was lucky; we’re at the end of a dead-end road so I don’t have a lot of traffic to worry about.

(Also surprised to see you up so late… I’m trying to catch up on reading and I saw my notification light up and it’s nearly 2:30 AM. XD)

      • It’s nearly 3:30am here. I was doing good a few days last week trying to go to bed around 10:30pm…but….ehh… 🙂 You live and learn and work through the mistakes.

              • When I was in college…oh man, it was so bad. I would go to sleep around 6am and get up around 6pm. I have found if I am able to stay up for over 24 hours that does help me fall asleep because I’m completely exhausted and tired and I don’t have to fight it. I know of course that’s not the best, and I’ve only done this like twice really. But it is an option I give myself on nights I just can’t sleep.

                • Oh wow. I totally get that; I hated that because I’d almost never get to see the sun.

I’ve done that a few times, it wasn’t too fun. It wasn’t too bad a few years ago; I could do that and it worked. But it seems like now, I have trouble if I try to do that. Sunday I tried to stay up past noon because I wanted to finish watching a Sunday service online but I started feeling panicky so I had to give up in the middle of it, sadly. I’m not sure why it’s so hard for me to do that now.

                  • Well our bodies are definitely not meant to be pushed like that so it’s understandable. Even as a baby, I apparently from the second day was a night owl, it’s never really changed for me. I usually wake up between 3-6 times when I sleep, unless I am extremely tired…it’s like…seriously! Why can’t I have decent sleep UNLESS I’m exhausted? Haha 🙂

                    • That’s a good point. I hope once my sleeping pattern gets back to normal, I can keep it that way and stop doing this. XD

Oh wow; haha, I think I was actually born at like… 6AM. And my mom (who just got up – I think everyone in my family right now is a little messed up in different ways in their sleep patterns…) said 6:30 AM. If only I could have stayed Early Bird. 😄

I’ve been doing the same thing! Usually, the first like… four or five hours is okay, but then it’s almost every hour I’m awake again. And it didn’t help that last night (if you can call it night, it felt like night XD) I was being chased by gangsters that wanted me dead… apparently, I had some evidence that proved that one of them was a murderer and they wanted it destroyed. 😂 (I have crazy dreams sometimes… 😆)

                    • Oh good! It was a dream! You didn’t say “dreamt” so I was like…oh goodness I hope it’s a dream and she says that, which you did! 😀 I am the same! I’m thinking about writing another dream experience post on a recent dream, maybe a week or so old now. It was really interesting. Most of it was nice, with a little bit of creepiness. I was born around noon so I guess…nothing really changed haha. I always feel “better” I don’t know if that’s the right word when other people are up as late as me. Like, I’m not completely alone in the world at this hour haha 🙂

                    • Oh! Oops. Yes, it was a dream. 🙂 Escaping murderers, smugglers, poachers, police, or strange creatures has been a theme in a lot of my dreams for some reason. The last one had an interesting twist on it in that there was another private detective there who had not been discovered by the bad guys – yet – so I couldn’t escape without somehow saving her from them, because I knew if she was discovered, they would kill her too. But I woke up before figuring out how to do that. So now I’m cliff-hangered. 😆

I look forward to reading that! I’ve always like your dream experience posts.

                      Oh, haha! XD

Same! 🙂 It was really nice to chat with you in the middle of the night! 🙂 (For some reason, this comment didn’t make the bell light up, or I would have answered this one much earlier. 😅)

                    • Kind of, yes. Or… I’d like to escape from some things at least. But I can’t. 😅

Aww, haha. Have you had a dream continue that same night or the next night before? I had that happen once or twice.

                    • I’ve had the same dream continue the same night a few times, but that’s also if I am half awake when I first wake up and not fully awake, it’s easier to go back into REM (rapid eye movement, when you dream).

                    • Oh, that makes sense. I’ve had that happen too. 🙂 (And that makes it easier to also lucid dream, meaning I get to choose how it ends. This can be dangerous to anyone in the dream who is chasing me… 😆)

                    • Yes, I’ve been able to lucid dream sometimes. To know that I’m dreaming. Usually though, I’ll do a few things, and then get caught up in the story of the dream and forget I’m dreaming haha. 🙂

                    • Me too, but it doesn’t happen often enough, sadly. XD

Same here; when it happens, I usually like to try playing out scenes or ideas I have for one of my novels. Or I go superpower crazy… and then like, you, I forget. 😊

  2. That is so awesome that you still have the bike! The difference between a generation that made things to last and a generation that makes things to intentionally make you have to upgrade, is the difference being old and wise enough to enjoy simple pleasure and forever dissatisfied because we don’t have the newest thing. God is so kind and generous to allow us simple pleasures! Looking forward to the after picture!
