Do I have faith? Do I have the courage to take the leap?
Are these empty promises that You could not keep?
No! I trust in You, Lord; You never break Your promises,
You keep Your word; there are never hits and misses!
You were not lost forever in eternal sleep,
You rose from the dead; from the deep!
I will follow You, no matter where You lead me,
Whether it is through green pastures where you feed me,
Or besides still waters where I may be washed spotless,
I bow to You and I shall all that is on my heart, to You, confess!
And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures… (First Corinthians 15:4:)
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. (Psalm 23:2: )
For it is written, ” ‘As I live, ‘ saith the Lord, ‘every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.’ ” (Romans 14:11:)
Hello everyone!Β π I found this poem in my drafts – from last June! I thought it was time it made its debut. Not sure why it hadn’t before now, haha. Anyway. I was thinking about fear of the unknown and trusting Him with leading me – and having the courage to follow that leading wherever He may lead. Sometimes I fear where I’m being led (or think I’m being led), and wonder what God is thinking – but He knows best, and He is a faithful God! β€
Amen! I’ll go wherever He may lead me. Beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing. β€

Hi Grace,
Your faith fear dilemma reminded me of a saying I think I made up?! Anyways the saying goes like this:
“If you have no fear you are not following God close enough. Therefore it is good to have some fear!”
I think I want to post this one as a bring blip on my blog, thank you for your honesty and encouragement.

Oh, how neat! I like that.
It reminds me of another that I’ve heard, “Courage is fear that has said its prayers.” – Dorothy Bernard. A little fear is okay, but when asked, He can turn it into courage. π Courage doesn’t just happen; it’s because you have fear to start with that you end up with courage, I guess. If that makes sense.

Perfect love casts out fear. I think when we fear where He is leading us, it is because we have doubts about how much He truly loves us. We have listened to the voice of the serpent like Eve did when he accused God of really looking out for Himself and not wanting Adam and Eve to be as wise as He was. We need to recognize the lies and banish them; we need to believe the truth of the perfect, unconditional, sacrificial love of our God.

Wow, I hadn’t thought about it like that. You’re right; you have to recognize them in order to banish them!
The fear was getting so bad that I was having panic attacks. If you want to read about my last experience with it, it is here: https://followinghimbesidestillwaters.wordpress.com/2018/01/07/i-shall-not-fear/ Jesus’ name is powerful! β€
Amen to that! β€ Thank you for sharing; this was so encouraging. π This lie is a really hard one to banish; because inside, it feels like it is the truth. But of course, His love IS exactly what you said and I am glad for it. π

Beautiful!! And so timely. Even though the future seems scary at times, He’s always right there, holding us by the hand and leading us. Hoping you have a blessed Friday!!

π I found them in the widgets area, where you can make footers and sidebars. (Though not every blog theme supports a sidebar – that’s why I changed my theme this year, I wanted a sidebar desperately. π) I’m going to see if I can create a link to it for your blog:
https://robyn1513.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
In this admin panel, you can set up all sorts of fancy stuff! I even found a way to link to my Goodreads account so everyone can see what I’m reading! π
Also, T. R. Noble wrote a whole series about how to customize a blog that I found so helpful. I had no idea I could change the fonts and stuff too. If you would like to check that out, here is a link to it: https://peekingfrombeneaththerock.wordpress.com/new-to-blogging-and-editing-your-blog/ I wasn’t new to blogging exactly, but I still didn’t know half of the stuff she wrote about!

I love this poem a lot! I will trust him wholly no matter the obstacles or storms, or tests or trials that I daily face! I know he is with me, I don’t know where he’s taking me but I know he knows where he’s taking me because my life is in his hands and he’s my life after this life! Thank you Jesus! May he continue to lead you beside the still waters and use you in Jesus Name! Amen! Much love and blessings to you! Xx πππ
