Sometimes – he’s a black rat snake. I call him Blake. XD I’ve almost stepped on him several times when he was sunbathing, but he’s usually off in the woods somewhere. 🙂

He’s actually more scared of me than I am of him. 🙂 He isn’t poisonous, so I’m not too afraid to get close. (That photo was taken with my old camera – I literally had to get within a foot of him to get that shot. XD)

Oh, you’re brave. How can you tell if it’s poisonous or not?

I downloaded an Arkansas Snake Guide, which helped. 🙂 It looked like no black snakes in Arkansas are poisonous. Also, I’ve heard that the pupils of the eyes of a poisonous snake are diamond shaped while a non-poisonous one’s pupils are round. I don’t know if that’s true though, and I don’t plan to get close enough to a poisonous one to find out… XD

No, not yet – I still need to revise that one. 🙂 I’m slowly working on it. 😀
Haha, it shocked me too. Part of it was that I was taking night shift watching my grandma that year, so while she slept, I had lots of free time to write. 🙂

In fact I’m writing a fictional memoir. But when I get to the last 25 years of my life when I had all the pain, I wanted it to be a memoir, not a fiction. So I could finish the fiction, and change it back to memoir. At least it got me to think about it and write about it. I wanted to write my memoir but procrastinated. 🙂 What do you think?
