For as long as I remember, Iāve heard that my faith should be like a childās. That 1) it should be ātrustingā and āunpretentiousā (pulling from my study Bible here), not tarnished by lifeās disappointments, and that 2) itās a good verse to apply to the life challenges we bring to Godās feet.
But imagine my surprise when I looked up āfaith like a childā in Scripture recently and couldnāt find it. That phrase doesnāt exist in the Bible, at least not in that form.
And when I examined the passages from whence it supposedly springs, I found a different lesson ā different enough, at least, that Iād never heard it.
Jesus called a little child to stand among them.Ā āTruly I tell you,āĀ He said,Ā āunless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Ā Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child isā¦
