My Oasis

The heat of the world burns;
I rest in His cool shadow,
And of Living Waters, I yearn,
To drown the drought filled sorrows.

In this dry world, my soul pants for Thee;
You are my thirst-quenching Oasis;
In a dry land where no water is;
And where no other shelter can be.

He is my sanctuary,
Where I can freely rest;
I am in Him and He in me,
The Holy Spirit quenches best!

In the early morning hour,
I will seek You first thing;
To You be the glory, my King,
To Whom has all the power!

“O God, Thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see Thy power and Thy glory, so as I have seen Thee in the sanctuary. ” (Psalm 63:1)

β€œAs the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?” (Psalms 42:1-2)

  1. I am glad you have this place Grace,,, I am of the opinion that you share a part of this place with us in many of your posts, After reading, I am currently thinking about Heaven and how we will no longer post sadness and refuge just goodness and joy. With God’s own Heavenly world wide web we will all be connected with God and each other. With eternity we will post face to face, no distance problems or time problems. Just pure clean Godly fellowship. I still am in wonder of how God will make all the struggles here into something good in Heaven AKA Home, One of the mysteries of The Redeemer I will look forward to witnessing. Thank you Grace for sharing your peaceful place and writings, They do encourage all who read.

    With thanks,
    Denny

      Yes, no time or distance problems will be nice! And get to see Him every day!

      I’m in wonder too, and like you, look forward to witnessing it. πŸ™‚

  2. Hey Following Him,

    How are you? πŸ™‚ Well I hope and deliriously happy inside and outside.

    I had to stop en route to the Land of Zzzz whilst I read and re-read your elegant poem and stood a while in the morning (?) shadow to enjoy the exquisite view. It’s breath-taking. Thank you. Your feather flutters gracefully when it catches the whisper of a soft breeze. Keep flying πŸ™‚

    I know you’ll be smiling because you seem the sirt that always does, so i’ll bid thee a good evening instead and look forward to a lake with a view next time. Take care of you, the Forest Realm, and Granma’s Lake, and if time and energy allows after all that responsibility (phew!) best wishes with the writing and poetry!

    Namaste πŸ™‚

    • Hey! πŸ™‚

      Thank you! πŸ™‚ I’m okay; better than earlier today. 😊

      The photo was taken in the evening, actually. πŸ™‚ It was a pleasant evening with many colors. (My header image was taken the same day. Autumn was showing off her magic that day.)

      Aww. πŸ™‚ I’ll do my best to keep flying – but I’m afraid of heights! πŸ˜…

      Thank you so much! 😊 I try, but I’m not always successful.

      You have a great evening as well, and best wishes with your writing and poetry too! (I look forward to exploring your blog and the magical land of Camelot soon!)
