Foggy Mornings and Purple Sunsets

I love getting up early on foggy mornings, though I rarely get up that early. On the rare occasions I do, it is so satisfying to discover the hidden gems out there; God’s creation leaves me in awe:

This is the view out our front door. And when I trek into the woods, it’s like a scene from a fairy-tale. Except for maybe the coyotes howling in the distance. That turns the fairy-tale into a very-eerie-tale… 😅

And then on my walk, I stumbled upon this scene:

See all the little white blobs? That’s not snow.

It’s actually water droplets that have collected on spider’s webs. You can see them really well in this shot:

Here is a close-up shot of one of the webs (no spiders were home):

Here is is VERY close up so you can see the little drops – this is one of those hidden gems I was referring to:

I love the way the fog hides some of the trees:

And then ever so slowly, the sun begins to break through:

I’m also including one shot of a sunset with a purple sky. It really was that purple; I didn’t use any photo enhancing software on this. I absolutely loved how the silhouetted woods look against the colors of the sky. It was so magical!

All of these photos were taken in the woods surrounding our house. 🙂

                    • Yes. Quite. 😅 It’s easier for me to talk to people online in text that speak to them, though there are a few people I can talk to without being nervous or shy. 🙂

Wow! It must be fun to sing in church! 😀

I’d love to read that post; perhaps I’ll search your site for it. 🙂

I see; but practicing makes me so nervous! 😅 Haha, seriously, I’ve been trying to break out of my shell a bit. It’s hard though!

                    • I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I blush or get embarrassed just typing 🙂

Why not read one of your poems out-loud and post it here? 🙂 It could be an incisive strike at your fear? But in truth your individual voice sings in your words for all to hear and know what is in your heart. And that is all that really matters.

                      Namaste 🙂

                    • I do that too. 🙂

That would be fun and like you said, strike at the fear! (And you’d get to hear my Southern accent. 😂) At the moment, it wouldn’t be possible because my Internet at home is too slow. I’m still using dial-up, so videos are impossible to view and audio takes forever. I hope to upgrade soon. 😀

Excellent! I have this sneaky suspicion that once you start to rock the mike you’ll rock the mike right, right?! 🙂

And until then I shall anticipate ‘soon’ and hope that soon will arrive much sooner than that.

Take care of one and all. Have a wonderful week 🙂

                    • Haha, yeah! 🙂 I need to get a mic… I don’t think a hairbrush or remote will quite cut it. 😂

                      Thank you; so do I! 😀 I can’t wait!

Thank you, you too; have a wonderful week as well! ♥

                    • 😀 lol I am so pleased you admitted to being a hairbrush and/or remote singer as well. My early morning songs – normally broadcast through an open bathroom window when I am taking a shower – are not at all for the feint hearted…nor for the birds it seems, not even Crows, who cease to gather as once they did when appreciating my dulcet tones 🙂 Sadly my audience is so few in number these days.

However when getting into character to write for a character, there is nothing better than grabbing an accessory from the table top and whilst acting out the character in front of a large mirror giving it an apex performance lol 🙂 Such occasions are not for broadcast lol

Anyhoo, fingers crossed for high-speed connection and starring future performances that could change your life 🙂

Thank you for best wishes for my week. It may not be a week in which I shall flourish, but I hope it is a sufficiently good week to flower each day 🙂

Take care of you and one and all.

                      Namaste 🙂

                    • Haha, I love that! You’d think the birds would tell their friends to come over for a spectacular performance. 🎵 🎶

Oh yes, definitely! I’ve done that before as well, lol. It’s challenging to give a good performance of a character who has powers. 😅 Also, if you are lucky enough to have a lucid dream once in a while, you can take it to the extreme.

                      Thank you! 🙂

Make it a big flower, like a sunflower. 🌻

                      Thank you! ♥

                    • Thank you! 🙂 a Sunflower is a very happy thought and no doubt a very happy flower 🙂

I knew if you’d done the hairbrush thing then it was likely you’d also done the mirror thing as well. How was your powerfully power-fuelled performance? Powerful? 🙂

Hmm, lucid dreaming…now there’s a gateway to another world if one ever wanted one. If only one didn’t have to wake 🙂

My pleasure. Thank you. What would be the flower that flourishes for you?

                      Namaste 🙂

                    • 🙂 I imagine so!

Oh yes – it’s a lot of fun and really helps with knowing the character. 😁 I suppose it was powerful within the imagination, haha. In the novel, there are four main characters, and each has the power of one of the “elements” – earth, air, water, and fire. It’ll be a wild ride!

Yes! 😀 It’s not something that happens often for me, but it’s really great when it does. (And dangerous for the whole dreamworld… 😂) Oh yes, if only! Haha.

🙂 There are so many flowers to choose from, but I think I’ll go with lilies. I’ve always loved lilies. 😊

Hope you are having a lovely weekend!

                    • Hey Following Him,

Four characters! Oh my your imagination must be racing 24/7 with barely time to sleep! 😀 Of all the elements (and therefore characters) do you have a favourite? Is there a secret 5th element as yet unrevealed? 🙂

Dangerous for the whole dreamworld – lol – I enjoyed the wonder and chaos that that image conjured.

Lillys is a wonderful choice of flower. I looked up a symbolic reference suggesting Lilly’s were emblematic of humility and devotion. It is a beautiful sentiment.

A little late to reply, I’m sorry, my weekend was most enjoyable, thank you, and lifted by friends and good company here on WP. Thank you for yours 🙂

I trust all is well in all ways with you, and all swell in the woodland realm protected by you and mother nature? I’ll bid ‘bon voyage’ for the remainder of the week as you time travel on planet Earth towards the future at 67,000 miles per hour. What a ride what a ride! 😀

                      Namaste 🙂

                    • Hey! 🙂

I like all of them in one way or another, and how they complement each other. (I think my fourth character will be a Satyr or a Faun! It fits with the woodland theme.) I’m tempted to say that fire was my favorite; at least, it was in the lucid dream in which I tried it out. 😅 But so very destructive and hard to control! (Which will be reflected in the novel; Raphael accidentally sets off more than one forest fire, poor thing.) Air is probably a close second.

I do have a fifth element planned out! 😀 But the other elements don’t know that it exists for a long time.

😀 Haha, I’ve tried some crazy stuff. It’s fun to take on the elemental powers, but also, try things that can’t happen in this world… 😄

Oh, I didn’t know that about lilies! I like them all the more now. 🙂

I understand! I’m almost always a day or two behind replying to comments. I’m glad your weekend was enjoyable; may your week be too!

At the moment, it is! Trouble is usually brewing somewhere, but it wouldn’t be as exciting otherwise, right? 🙂

Time traveling at 67,000 miles per hours sounds like quite a lot of fun! See you there! 🙂

  2. Hey Following Him,

I am captivated by all of your wonderful images and especially enchanted by the last three, which for me offer an extended gaze beyond and through both shadow and veil to where the eye is rewarded with timeless beauty. Of the last three images: the first is an enchantment, a lullaby: the second an arrow head of light penetrating into woodland darkness: and the third bewilders the senses with a soft palette of purple and pink. To walk through your woods is to wander and wonder in wonderment. Thank you for sharing…my quiet evening stroll through woodland was a pleasure to treasure. You are blessed to live where you do. Wonderful.

Hoping your week ahead is filled with happiness. Take care in all ways for always.

      • Hey Following Him,

That’s my pleasure 🙂 Thank you for capturing nature’s charming spectacle and sharing it with us here in your wonderful images…they leave me dreamying. You’re very fortunate to have a little slice of Eden on your doorstep that you get to call mine 🙂 Undoubtedly your camera and pen must be kept very busy throughout the year as you follow her woodland through the seasons.

Having enjoyed reading a little of your poetry, I wouldn’t be surprised either if the photographs you have posted here inspired you to pen an ode or two? 🙂

I look forward to viewing more of your material, reading more of your writing, and enjoying both your imagination and the whimsy found there-in. Until next time…

        Namaste 🙂

I’m happy to share! Yes, it is such a blessing. 😊 Yes, my pen and camera are kept quite busy! My poor camera has about had it though.

I get that dreamy feeling too; sometimes I wander out there pretending I’m an elf. (I’ve been accused of having an overactive imagination… 😅)

Oh, yes, definitely! 😁 And sometimes I like to respond to photo prompts.

          Thank you! 🙂 ❤

          Until next time. 🙂

          • Hey Following Him,

An elf? 😀 Aww, that’s deliriously imaginative. Curiously when I was reading and commenting, and particularly after reading your poem about an antique shop I had passing thoughts about possibility of a woodland realm on your doorstep…perhaps that was the dreamy whimsy of you I sensed? 🙂

Would a new camera be an investment? I think it might be an option worth considering: photography sounds a favourite endeavour of yours 🙂 It reminds me that I should start in earnest to build a new library of images. I am not a photographer but use photographs in my artwork and new material is required. Thank you for inspiration.

Thank you for also replying with smiles…all are very welcome, and all brightening up a cloudy week nicely 🙂

Hoping you’ve sun shining wherever you may be. Take care of one and all including the woodland realm…I get the sense you are it’s Keeper, protector, the arch-Elf. It’s a role that comes with great power and tremendous responsibility! Have a happy day!

            Namaste 🙂

            • Haha, thank you. 🙂 I’m planning a fantasy novel in which there is an elf, and I’ve been thinking about her a lot lately. There is also a nixie (which probably explains why the poems including mermaids) and a human and there will be a fourth one that I haven’t decided upon yet. So my brain has been in fantasy lands recently. 🙂 Oh wow, perhaps so!

Oh yes, definitely. 🙂 A fantastic investment. Thank you, it is. I enjoy it so much. Oh, that sounds so fun to do; good luck building your library of images. 😀

🙂 I’m glad that the smiles could brighten your day! I hope that the sun is now shining where you are. 🙂

Aww, wow. 🙂 That would be so fun.

Thank you; you have a happy day too!
