Reblogged in response to the Daily Post prompt, sail. š I can’t believe it’s been so long since I posted this one! August of 2016, wow! š®
Following Him Beside Still Waters
This one is heavily inspired by Sophieās blog post called āThey Kept Asking How Depression Feltā and Miriamās āLifeās Currents.ā I love how water is used in both poems to paint with such vivid color how life can pull one down; and how depression feels in Sophieās poem, and how Jesus can lift us back up in Miriamās. š They inspired me to write about my experience with Him being the Lifeguard. Am I saying that Iām no longer depressed? No. Am I saying that life doesnāt get me down anymore? No. But when it gets really bad, I know that He will never leave me to drown. š
My Lifeguard
Iām afraid to cross the deep stormy sea
But I climb into the boat anyway
Slowly untie and let the sails free
Say a prayer and from the dock, sail away
It is not always smooth sailing

Nowadays, the beach lifeguards use drone to observe the water. Our Life Guard sees everything without telescope!

That is so neat! I saw on TV where they used drones to look for sharks. I bet the drones really help out those lifeguards!

Yes, I saw they holding the remote control, almost like playing video game, flying airplanes!

I agree! š Unless I had to go out in the water to save someone. That wouldn’t be fun; I can’t swim. We’d both drown!

I’m once again soooo far behind and now the weekend is here! I’ll be answering your comments on Monday, Grace. Meanwhile, have a super weekend!

I was nearly three days behind again, but yesterday it rained and canceled most plans, so I was able to catch up. Which is probably part of the reason you are so behind now… š Have fun catching up on Monday, and you have a good weekend too! š

You can see how buried I am…just 3 days behind! I need an assistant! š

LOL! Yes, you do! I’m only two days behind at the moment. š But more than a week behind on reading some blogs…
LikeLiked by 1 person
Sounds like you could use an assistant too! Myself, I couldn’t pay them so they’d have to work for free, which means part-time for sure, which also means they would be behind in comments still, right back to where I am anyway!! š¦ !!

So what are we supposed to do, Grace? I guess we just continue to do the best we can…alone. It’s just all the “ups and downs” in readers. You catch up and the readers go up. You fall behind and there goes the readers…at least that’s the way it goes here.

LOL, yep, do the best we can do. š
Haha, I understand that! It’s hard sometimes to keep up the balance!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes it is difficult to maintain a balance. I suppose the real good blogs require a lot of regular attention every day with new, creative ideas. I fall short in those areas quite often, š¦

Aww, haha, I love the stuff you post! š
I’ve given up on the idea of posting something every day; I’d rather spend a day or two reading and responding and then post once I’ve (sort of) caught up. š

That works to a point. I had a reader who did a lot of that. She’d read and “LIKE” what others posted, but didn’t post too often on her blog. After a good while, she just kind of disappeared from sight. I’m guessing she wasn’t happy that people didn’t have anything much to read on her blog so the number of views went so low she lost interest…that’s just a guess. Just don’t let that happen to you!

Oh no, that’s sad. š¦
My current plan is to post every other day or every three days, unless something prompts me to post sooner. That way I don’t fill up the reader, and I am more able to keep up with everyone else too. š
I won’t let that happen to me! I’m still so shocked that I’m getting the amount of readers I do! I really didn’t expect people to be interested in my blog when I created it, which is one thought that convinced me that I could safely create it. š I guess this is one way to help get past shyness!

I love your blog and I’m not surprised others like it too. Your plan sounds pretty good, but you may experience a bit of a drop in readers. And why not “fill up” the reader with posts. I try to post 4 to 6 things a day in order to find something for a good number of readers. If I spent more time on the blog, I could do a better job with keeping up, but I work it like a job…about 6-8 hours a day, M-F. My wife and I share an office in the house and I quit working about the time she does, maybe a bit later.
Yes, this blog is a great way to work past shyness, Grace, although I can never understand why you are so shy. You have a wonderful personality and are very nice to everyone. You don’t seem to be a “wallflower” to me! (Learn to drive and get out into the world a bit, that will really help your confidence!)

š Maybe a slight drop, but hopefully not too much… it isn’t so much pressure to post every other day than every day. š
Haha, true! š And you find some of the neatest Christian stories for your blog and write some of the best haikus that really get you thinking about Him. š
WOW. Haha, I am on here a lot, but I don’t usually come on for that long. But also, it takes so long for me to load things that many times I let something load and do something else while it loads… so in all I guess I could be on that much. š There are so many wonderful people on here posting about Christ that I want to read as many as possible!
Aww, thank you. š I’m trying to break out of my shell a bit. It’s so much easier to talk online than it is in person for some reason. š

Hi Grace! I realize that I am days behind in answering this! (What’s new…hehe). Well, I hope you are right about a “slight drop.” My blog crashes over the weekend, except for replies to comments. That’s because I don’t post anything on Sat.-Sun. usually. Here’s to a better experience with you.
Aww thanks for the compliments. I look for things of interest to post on my blog, things which will cause people to be mindful of God, Christ, and the bible. I think about eternal life quite a bit, and I believe others should do the same. We can be there in an instant…(accident, illness, etc.) and we’d best be ready at all times for it!
Yes, there are some good things being posted about Christ and it is hard to find and read them all! But not everything is sound doctrine. That’s where we need to be careful!
As for you breaking out of your shell, it is easier to “talk” online, but sometimes we need to try to accomplish the “uncomfortable” to make some real strides…just sayin’

LOL, I’m a day behind in answering you; looks like we’re in the same boat again. š
Ah, I see. š I don’t look at my stats too often; maybe I should. Today I’m only a day behind in comments, so I may post something tonight and tomorrow. I’m thinking about sharing more notes from my Bible studies tomorrow… š
That is very true! š anything could happen at any time to bring us there!
Oh yes, definitely! š We need to be careful, but there are some flowers among the weeds. š¼
Haha, yes, I know… š

That’s actually great that you don’t look at the stats as much. It means you work on the blog from the heart and pure enjoyment of having it. Good for you, Grace!
Do the posts from your bible studies, but be careful of what you teach. Make yours more discoveries or even questions…I’ll be very happy to read and comment on them…not that I know everything by any means!
Please be careful of what you read about the Lord’s word…you can’t believe what everyone writes. My rule is guided by this: If it’s in the bible and in context, I believe it. Otherwise, I push it aside. We do not add to nor take away from what the bible says…
I pray that you will break through your shyness and let people see what a great person Grace really is!

I took a quick look at my stats, and I see what you mean. High when I post, and then it crashes when I go several days without posting. But if I post more often, I’ll never be able to keep up with reading posts, writing posts and writing comments. Oh well; I really like my posting schedule so I’ll most likely keep it. It’s much more fun to write when I feel like it; otherwise I’m stressed trying to come up with post ideas. š I really admire your ability to posts so often and keep up with posts and comments!
Oh yes, of course! I didn’t think of it as teaching; I’m just posting the things I observed while studying. Wow, teaching; I feel the pressure now. š
(I see that you read it because you just reblogged it – wow, thank you!)
I will! I think we are reading a lot of the same blogs, actually. Which makes sense because I found many blogs through blogs you’ve reblogged, haha. š Yes, you’re right; that is a great rule.
Aww, thank you. š

I don’t know that I’m a great example of keeping up with post, comments, reading, and replies! I put in a full day, just like a work schedule, Monday thru Friday, (for the most part), just to stay where I am…which is always a day or two behind in comment replies. I give new posts the priority, but like you, I love the replies and comments almost as much as posting. And my reading stats look like a roller coaster ride…ups and downs!
I think we may read a lot of the same blogs too. I’m glad you read the sites I reblog…they deserve it! And you are very welcome for all the reblogs I may do from your site! (I love your poems!)
Just keep the word of God in context as you read some of the blogs. I’ve found some very nice people with some very wrong information. I don’t have all the answers, but I know a few things about God’s word!

Yes, they do! š They are good.
Aww, thank you! š ā„ It always makes me so happy when you do!
Oh yes, definitely! š I’ve come across some of those as well…
Haha; I don’t think it’s possible to have all the answers; only One has all the answers. š
