100 words exactly this week! ๐ŸŽŠ

this image came from Unsplash artist Geran de Klerk

I look beneath me to see
An island on a turtleโ€™s shell
Floating haphazardly
Along the oceanโ€™s swells.

What an adventure! But Iโ€™d rather fly
Up here in the salty air
Than have my fate decided by
That turtle down there.

For when it finally goes under,
Iโ€™d hope that the one who in there dwells
Attached the house firmly, or it will asunder
And the pieces will become driftwood on the swells!

I catch the early morning breeze
And leisurely, on the air currents I drift away;
Flapping feathered wings with ease,
Hoping to see the turtle again someday!
