On The Catwalk

This is week seventy of Three Line Tales, and here is the photo and my response. πŸ™‚ If you want to join in the fun, just click the link! πŸ˜‰

A cat photo prompt! How fanCATstically PUUURRRRRfect. 😍 (I couldn’t resist making some cat puns in this post. πŸ˜‚)

The cat, seeking adventure, went on a journey to discover more about herself; she took a risk and turned a narrow beam into a catwalk in the process.

Maintaining equilibrium – there is a thin line between bravely walking with poise and dignity, and foolishly plunging into the watery depths below and losing one of nine lives.

Will the feline be correct in thinking this balancing act is achievable or will the little guy end up literally and figuratively all wet?

  1. I don’t think cats fall much at all…I say this little guy makes the walk! I’m more of a dog fan…now if this were a small dog, I’d give “50-50” odds on him falling into the water…Lol! Neat post, Grace…

    • Nope – at least, not in my experience with them, haha! It does happen rarely.

Yes, I think the little guy makes it too!

LOL, yes, definitely! Small dogs are cute, but they don’t have the balance of a cat. 😸 But dogs usually like water more than cats, so if the fall wasn’t too long, he might like a swim!

      Thanks! πŸ™‚

      • Exactly…dogs do a lot better with water. I had a dog for about 9 years…he was probably 4-5 years old when I got him. When I would take him to be washed, the groomer would tell me he would slowly sink down into his bath water to lay down and relax! She kept trying to get him to stand back up! He was a great dog but he died of cancer. He was a pretty good dog…

          • And it is very hard to find another dog to take his place. There’s just something which doesn’t seem right about every dog we look at. We tried a fish instead, but that didn’t work at all! 😦

            • I understand that; each one is unique in their own way. πŸ™‚

At this point, I don’t think we’ll be getting another dog anytime soon; I still have 17 cats, and they are a handful by themselves!

I wish you luck in finding another dog! πŸ™‚

LOL about the goldfish; I’ve never had a fish. I have fed tadpoles at the mud-hole, but that’s as close as I’ve come. πŸ˜‚

              • Yes…it is hard to just up and replace a good dog friend. We have had a credit from a local shelter which was good for a year after that one dog we tried who ran off. It expires in a few days, so it doesn’t look like we’ll be using it.

Wow, 17 cats! I’m sorry Grace, but I’m just not a cat fan. I can’t imagine keeping up with that many of them! And the fish, well they aren’t too exciting and you can’t really play with them. No more fish for me…except the kind you order from a diner or catch your self! πŸ™‚

                • Aww, I’m sorry you haven’t found another best friend yet. I got Rosie only because someone abandoned her mother.

Haha, yeah! I used to have more; probably double that. But we gave a few away, and a few ran away. Someone abandoned them on our road; some were pregnant when abandoned. It’s so sad, but I couldn’t let them starve, so I took them in. They’re all unique in their own way, and are some of the sweetest cats ever. Or… most of them are anyway. I have a few who have an “you can look but don’t touch” attitude. I call it having a “cattitude.” πŸ˜‚

Haha, I understand! I used to be a dog person, but cats grew on me. πŸ™‚ LOL, it’s hard sometimes; and I imagine if I got a fish, it would be a cat’s dinner anyway!

Yes, fish for dinner! That sounds good! 🍴

                  • Well, for us “older” folks, (hehe), we’re a bit more fussy about replacement dogs and stuff. It isn’t easy to find “just the right one.”

That’s quite a story about the cats. I perrrfectly understand how you felt about them, Grace. I love the term “cattitude”… :):) Still, it’s that very attitude that makes them unattractive to me. “You can look but don’t touch” kind of thing…that’s just not for me, sorry.

Ha…that’s a good fish story! Dinner for the cats. You know, having a fish for a “pet” is about as exciting as watching paint dry! A big yawn!! Oh well, we will probably find another dog in the near future…

                    • I completely get that! For me, I don’t think it’s possible to find a “replacement” – no two dogs (or cats) are alike (at least, in my experience), so the new pet doesn’t fill the void left by the previous; your heart just grows to include the new one, if that makes sense. πŸ™‚

Haha, thanks! I bought a welcome mat that has that phrase on it, and I think that is the meaning of the word. XD I understand that; it is slightly offensive when you reach to greet them and you get a loud scream of warning (Simone’s way of saying “I DARE YOU.”), swatted or bit (Lolli’s way of protesting), or being hissed or spit at (Firecracker’s way of trying to intimidate me – and it works; she can make a loud popping sound that rivals a firecracker, hence the name). I’m just glad that not all of them have the “cattitude.” Monkey and Rabbit are the opposite; they gets offended if you don’t pet. I don’t think they would ever tire of attention. It’s amazing the variety of personalities. πŸ™‚

                      I can imagine! XD

Good luck finding another dog! I’m sure you’ll find one eventually, or one will find you! πŸ™‚

                    • Hi Grace…I’m back from a week’s vacation to Washington and Oregon…it was nice to get away. Now I have some catching up to do…

You are right about the different pets and their personalities. Our last dog, (Heinz) would always love being petted. He stand next to you and slowly sink down to a lying position while you stroked him. I believe even if your arm fell off from petting him, he’d expect you to switch to the other arm. The dog groomers told us that as they scrubbed him, he’d sink down in the water and they would constantly have to pull him back up!

Oh, we’ll maybe look for another dog soon. I think we’ll do so after the 4th so that we don’t get a new dog and have him at a new home scared by the fireworks. We’ll be talking again soon, Grace. It’s nice to see your comments in here…

                    • Hi Steve! I’m glad you had a relaxing vacation! πŸ™‚

Aww, that’s so cute! πŸ™‚ LOL, that’s so funny!

That makes sense! Fireworks wouldn’t be a great welcome for a new dog. Good luck finding another dog!

Yes, we will, I’m sure! (I’m 2 days behind again! 😜 But I’ll catch up!)

                    • Hi Grace. That’s okay, I was more than 2 days behind due to vacation. I wrote you a long email if you haven’t already seen it. Yes, this is still a bad time to look for a dog because many owners are searching the shelters right now for their doggies which may have run off due to fireworks. Maybe next week we’ll go looking.

                      Steve

Oh, haha, I can imagine! I get behind in just a day, I can’t imagine a week.

I saw it! I’m writing out a response, and hopefully you’ll have it in your inbox soon!

Oohhh, I see. Good luck next week finding a dog!
