What a lovely poem and image from Martha! π
Martha L Shaw - Poet, Writer, Author, Artist
I was on an avid search for peace!
I turned every stone,
and opened each door!
After miles of running, running, calling out,
I simply had to stop and rest.
It was then I found it!

Good re-blog, Grace. I read Martha all the time! Hope you are doing well…

Me too! π Because I can’t access the reader, I haven’t kept up with her blog like I should have in recent months; I wasn’t getting email notifications, so I assumed she wasn’t blogging when she was. Thankfully, another blogger mentioned that she was still blogging so I am back to reading her posts regularly.
Thank you! I’m doing okay. π I hope you are well as well.

Yes, I have had some problems with that stuff too. I get so many email notifications on my website email I can’t keep up with them all! So I try to read those who read me every day or two. I answer their comments and then check their website. Have a great evening, Grace! π

LOL, exactly! I had over 40 today… XD That is also my strategy. π You have a great evening too, and a great weekend! π

I’ve even tried changing my settings for emails but it doesn’t seem to help…

I did the same thing. XD

Really? My adjustments didn’t work. I have so many email notifications! And 99% are simply to tell me of a new posting. I know about some of those already as one day I’ll be all caught up again and reading new posts each day…

Oh, I still get a lot of emails. π But now I’m not getting emailed when people like a post, comment, or like a comment. I come here to check the notifications bar anyways so that seemed repetitive. 99% of mine are also alerts of a new posting.

Really? That’s not helpful to you. Seems you need to go back through all setting which have anything to do with emails and check them. My notifications at WP are fine, but my emails are way out of control. One reason is that I hardly ever check the email address I have connected to my website. You and a couple of others are the only ones who have my other email address which I check all the time. That one is fine…

Yeah… I checked to allow blogs to email me because I really do want to keep up with them since the reader still isn’t working for me. One day when we upgrade, hopefully the reader will work again and then I’ll go check the boxes to stop blogs from Gmailing me for new posts. I found the place in the “blogs I follow” section where I can check a box to make the emails stop, but I can’t access it at home without my browser crashing. π
Oh, haha, I get that. I have two email addresses too, but I’m only checking the one you have, because I don’t like Outlook. (And I think you use Outlook, so I hope you don’t take offense to that statement. XD ) The main thing I don’t like about it is that it takes over 30 minutes for me to load Outlook, while my Gmail loads in under a minute. So maybe I would like it more if it didn’t take so much time to use it.

Hmm…can’t imagine why the Reader doesn’t work for you? I have a free account and my Reader works just fine…
And I can’t understand why Outlook takes so long to load for you either. Don’t worry, I don’t take any offense to what you said about it…it’s not my favorite either! Sorry because it must be such a problem for you to send me emails!

Oh, it’s not WordPress’s fault; I just can’t load it because it takes so long with this Dial-Up connection. (If I’m at a WiFi hotspot, it loads in under two minutes and works fine.) It takes several reloads and usually ends up taking up to 2 hours at home to load it, so I don’t bother trying.
Yeah, that’s my Internet connection too. It’s absolutely awful. π Oh no, it is no problem to send you emails; my Gmail account loads fast! π

Yeah, dial-up service can be kind of slow on things. Is that all that’s available to you in the area you live in? And I’ll bet you don’t have too many choices for internet service either. I know living in a “park community” like I do, we are limited. Our park was built back in the 1960’s and still has a lot of the original wiring. It isn’t compatible with some of the services out there… π

There’s also dish (not sure about the reliability, plus we have a lot of trees…) and possibly cable. We’re not sure about the cable yet, but we’re going to look into it soon. π But yeah, not a lot of options…
Wow, 1960’s? That’s cool, except for the limited services part.

Please be very careful with the internet service you get. I’ve heard that dish and cable internet are very unreliable, especially in areas where there is a lot of rain and storms. Lots of outages, so I’ve been told. Do you have Cox, or Charter, Verizon, Spectrum, or any like that? Some of these are better choices I believe. I have Spectrum myself with no problems at all.

Oh my.
I haven’t heard of any of those except for Verizon, but I will look and see if they provide here. π (I thought Verizon only had cell phone coverage, so it’s nice to know they offer more than that. π)
That’s great! π I’ll check it out.

I’m no expert when it comes to internet services, but you are right, you just have to make some calls and check out providers in your area. They may have some information online too. π
LikeLiked by 1 person
I hope we can make those calls soon. π
Yeah, that’s true; I did look into one provider online a while back. They had a “test your Internet speed” page and I thought it might be neat to try it out for laughs. I couldn’t load the page – I guess that proves how bad it is… π

Lol…guess that does say something about your internet provider, Grace. What service is providing your internet right now anyway? Is it Frontier? They are usually pretty bad…
LikeLiked by 1 person
MSN; as in Microsoft. XD You’d think that with such a big company that it wouldn’t be bad, but MSN dial-up is horrid.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Is dial up service all you can have where you live? Maybe their regular internet and WiFi services are better. I would think they’d be faster…
LikeLiked by 1 person
That is all MSN offers, but we’re going to look into other providers soon who hopefully offer other options. π I don’t see how there can be much out there worse than this except for no Internet at all. π

Wow, it must really be somewhat frustrating to have so few options. Do you have cable TV and phone services? Maybe they have what is called a “bundle” package. That’s where they will handle your TV, internet, and phone services all together and usually for a cheaper rate than if you paid for each separately. That’s what I have and it works pretty good. Of course providers are all different state to state. π

No cable TV, but we do have a phone. We checked with the phone service but they don’t offer Internet out here yet. **sigh**
We’ll check on that cable TV though; that’s a great thought!

Hi Grace. Hope you’re doing very well this morning! Yeah, I would hope a TV cable provider would also have internet services…and that it would be better than what you have. I know services are limited in more rural areas…that’s too bad for you. Hopefully the TV cable people may have an answer.

Hi Steve! π I was well this morning, thank you. π I hope you are well too!
Yes! I hope to find out soon! π

Well, if not, you can always get by with what you have…it’s better than nothing at all. And cable TV is a bit “overrated” in my opinion. Although they do bring me more of the sports I like to watch…

That’s true. π
Yeah… I got to watch some cable TV at my grandmas, and my favorite channel was probably the one that played all the old stuff. I recorded so many old movies when I stayed with her.

You absolutely sound like a young lady with a more mature taste for life! Some old movies are great to watch, and they are “clean.” I was a bit shocked the other day when I was looking for a greeting card and found a swear word in it. Bad language is now spilling into everything! It’s just the sign of the times…

Yeah! I’m especially fond of the old musicals. On The Town and Singin’ In The Rain being two of my favorites. π I’d also like to see Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney again someday. He could dance! π
Wow, that is sad.
Yeah, a sign of the times for sure…

Oh, some great movies I’m sure. I’m told by some in my church of a cable station which shows those old movies all the time. Of course people have to have a cable company with a channel like that, but I would think many do…

My grandma used to get Turner Classic Movies which played them 24/7. π Yeah, that would be neat; but then if I had that on cable, I might be tempted to watch TV and not do anything else… XD

Oh you’d watch TV for a while but I think you have a curious nature about you and it wouldn’t take long before you’d be called to explore the garden or nature… π

You’re probably right! π I watched a wasp and a spider at war the other day and it was better than TV! (The wasp won. π³)

I agree with you…how cool! But doesn’t a wasp die after stinging, kind of like a bee? What would be the victory for the wasp if it couldn’t enjoy his “meal” upon winning the battle…
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh, does it? That’s sad.
I read once that the wasp paralyzes the spider and drags it back to its nest so that it can lay eggs on it. And then the eggs hatch and the larvae eat the spider alive… π±

Oh how horrible that sounds! I wouldn’t want to be that spider…

I just take these things on faith that God has a purpose for how He made these “little creatures” and how they act…

Amen to that!

I take it on faith that He has a reason for how some of us bigger “creatures” (humans) act as well. Not that He causes every move we make because we have freedom of choice and do make some bad decisions at times. But He has told us how He wants us all to live. Now its up to us as to if we will live that way or not…

I agree. π And He can turn any bad decision into something good, if He so chooses! I certainly wish to live His way. But we all stumble at times…

This is so true! The bible tells us that if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Christ washes away all of our sins…(1 John 1:7). Now that has to be an “anxiety buster!” What a comfort that is to know!!

Hi. Some people search for peace but never find it. They’re doing the wrong thing that does not lead to peace. Take care.

Hi! π Exactly! Eph:2:14 & 15: “For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace…” You take care too! π

Wow, Martha did a really great job on this poem! It reminds me of a quote by Nathaniel Hawthorne, “Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.” Although he was talking about happiness, the concept is very similar.

I haven’t heard that quote before; I really like it. π It reminds me of last summer when a butterfly landed on my arm after I chased it trying to get photos. It sure was a joy to have it alight upon me, haha. π

Yesss! Same here. I was trying to photograph a buckeye butterfly and it kept flying away every time it got close. π It finally landed somewhere and stayed as a got closer. Amazingly it let me slip my finger underneath it, and then decided my finger would make a good perch. I got a photo of it sitting on my finger! Don’t think that’ll ever happen again. π

Oh, how cool! π That is amazing! It may not ever happen again, but it’s awesome that you got a photo of it on your finger, and you’ll always have the memories to cherish now! π
