BikurGirl, I love this photo so much. Ocean, trees, blue sky, and even some misty mountains in the background. Wow! π

We are the light of this planet of blue,
A city on a hill, that cannot be hidden.
Why would we want to conceal it from view,
When to be luminescent, we are bidden?
We do not hide our bright light,
We let it shine for all to perceive!
For someone on a boat may catch sight,
And not fall into the stormy seas!
None lights a candle to hide it β why bother?
For the brilliant gleam must be unfurled,
To see our good works and glorify the Father
In heaven. So we glow for the whole world!
Matthew 5:14 – 16: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Wonderful poem and my favorite verse. Thank you!
