The Awesome Blogger Award

The Awesome Blogger Award

[created by Maggie]

This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

Thank you Maggie for nominating me with this award! I’m so honored to not only receive it, but be among the first to receive it. 🙂

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Include the reason behind the award.
  • Include the banner in your post.
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader.
  • Answer the questions your nominator gave you.
  • Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
  • Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
  • Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated!

Questions:

  1. What impact do you want to have on the world?
    • I want to tell people about Jesus’ love and lift people’s spirits. But because it’s hard for me to speak to people I don’t know, it’s not often I get to do that. However, it turns out that WordPress is a way to do that which doesn’t make me a nervous wreck. 🙂
  2. What is your vision for your blog in the next six months? (future posts, design, etc)
    • As for future posts, I will probably continue with poems, photos, and responding to some prompts, and my goal is to somehow give some glory to God in those. However, I may start including a book review now and then. Just every once in a while. I love to read. And I finished Hind’s Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard and Black by Ted Dekker not long ago.
    • As for the design… I’ve considered changing the theme, but… I really do like BookLite, and I loooove having a header image, and I don’t want to give that up. But it would be a space saver to have a menu on the side instead of cramming it all on the bottom. I’ve considered changing to the Collinear theme (which one of my favorite bloggers is using here) but I couldn’t bear to do it yet. XD
  3. Where is somewhere you would love to go?
    • The Rockies or the Ozarks – I love the mountains. Or maybe the beach. I haven’t seen the ocean yet and I would like to. 🙂
  4. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
    • My Lord saved me from the stormy seas. If you want to read more about that: My Lifeguard The second most is probably when a friend drove through like, three states just to visit me. 😊 ❤
  5. If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be?
    • That’s a hard one! Probably witness Jesus teach. Perhaps when He gave the Sermon on the Mount?
  6. What is a skill you’d like to learn? Why?
    • Speak Spanish! I’ve always wanted to learn a second language, and I picked Spanish. But I haven’t gotten very far yet.
  7. What are you most grateful for?
    • I was kidnapped, and an Amazing Guy paid my ransom. 🙂 If you want to read more about that nice thing: He Paid My Ransom. (I feel like I’m advertising my past blog posts at this point… XD )
  8. If you had the opportunity to get a message across to a large group of people, what would your message be?
    • The Gospel. 🙂 (If I don’t die from stage fright first. 😅)

…I cannot contain my joy, my elation
I want to spread His Word far and wide
Make sure that everyone in every nation
Gets a chance to feel His warmth inside…
[taken from His Loving Warmth In My Soul]

  9. Which activities make you lose track of time?
    • Computer games and blogging. I don’t play computer games much anymore because they tend to eat up all my free time like the little dude in pac-man eating all those little circles until he gets eaten. XD But I have found that I love WordPress and the community here. Sometimes I can’t sleep and I’ll be reading blogs until 3AM. Oops.
  10. What is the difference between being alive and truly living?
    • I heard a quote once: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” Being alive is counting the years, the quality; truly living is seeing the quality in the years you’ve lived, and what you use the years for, if that makes sense. 🙂

I struggled inside, simply to survive
I didn’t know how it was to be alive
All I was doing was existing
And foolishly continued resisting
When in Christ, I could have strived

My Nominees:

Alan R. Kive – What a creative idea of using ideas written on sticky notes in posts. 🙂 P.S.: I’ll be the first to leave a mark on your Leave Your Mark page with a pingback! XD #rebel

Too Comfortable – I love the concept of this blog, that we should not be afraid to be uncomfortable for Christ’s sake.

Message in Stanza – There is such beautiful poetry here.

Daily Thankful – One post per day about something to be thankful for. Reminds me of, “By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15)

The Psalmist – Praising God every day with songs and poems.

Keri L. – Poetry, short stories, and more. If you haven’t read The Artist, I recommend that you do. It was fantastic.

Hannah – She takes such awesome photos, and I enjoyed reading her recommendations for books and I especially liked her post about classic movie musicals! 🎵 Siiiinging in the rain, just siiiiinging in the rain… 🎶

Maggie – You know I had to nominate you on your birthday! 😉 I really love your blog – you are amazing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎊

  1. Thank you for accepting the award, Grace! ❤️ I loved reading your answers.
I, too, have never been to the ocean – I’m looking forward to the day I can see it!
Also, I saw that you want to learn Spanish – have you ever tried the app Memrise? I’m learning Spanish with it and I absolutely love it! If you can’t get the app on your phone or tablet, they also have a website with all of the same free lessons. You should check it out!

    • I was so happy to accept! 🙂

Aww, haha! So we’re both in Club Landlocked. XD

No, I haven’t! I don’t have a smartphone or tablet, so the website would probably be best for me. 🙂 That sounds great! I’ve been studying some books trying to memorize words, and I bought a computer program years ago, but it was kind of intimidating. XD I can’t wait to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation – or should I say, “¡Muchas Gracias!” ❤

      • Haha indeed! And yes, Memrise is a great website/app. You should definitely check it out! I’ve found computer programs and books to be fun at first, but then, like you said, rather intimidating. Those resources should really be reserved for the people touching up on a language, not attempting to learn one for the first time, haha!! De nada! (I would go find the upside down question mark, but I’m lazy lol.) I hope that you enjoy it! x

  2. Congratulations! And thank you! You’re not alone with the stage fright- I’ve passed out as an angel in a Christmas play, a bridesmaid at a wedding, and right after singing at my church. Lol

      • Hi Grace! Yep, things are doing a bit better today. I understand what it is to be a bit behind…no problem! So how are you doing? You know, I’ve been having some interesting conversations with your, (our), friend Pete about the church of Christ, which is the church I go to. You may be interested to know it is the one church mentioned in the bible. We do our best to follow only what God says to do as far as worshiping Him goes, just like the church of old. If you are interested in any information, I’d be happy to talk with you. It can be like Pete and me, off blog at my email account. Let me know if interested, Grace. No pressure, I promise!

        🙂

        • Hi Steve! I’m glad! 🙂

I’m slowly catching up. Very slowly. XD

I’m okay. 🙂 I still have a lot going on.

I’ve heard of the Church of Christ. However, when it comes to what they believe compared to other churches, I don’t know much, so I would be interested. 🙂

“spjeffries1953@outlook.com” We can talk at length about what the church believes there. Just send me an email to say “hi” so I will have your email address…I’m glad you are interested!

  3. Congrats on receiving such an AWESOME award! 😂Thanks for the nomination, too! I’ll definitely be taking part, but It’ll probably have to wait to next week. 😁 I’ve been crazzzyyy busy with school. I have 3 exams this week, including a final exam. 😧 The good news is, I’ll have one less class, so hopefully that’ll mean I’ll have time to start blogging again! It’s been too long! 😀
