Granny Smith Apple, still on the tree,
I daydream of the pie it’ll make.
The filling will be sweet and juicy,
When I put it in the oven to bake!

Yum, sounds good. My apple trees do not produce much, but I do get a few pies from them each year.

That’s great that you can make a few pies! 😀 I can’t wait; my mom’s apple tree has yet to bud out. Last year, the squirrels stole the majority of the apples and pears and all the peaches; I hope this year to actually have enough for a pie and some cobbler… 🙂

I have to scare squirrels out of my apple trees all the time.

How do you do it? I considered tying together some pie pans to hang in the branches to make noise, but I don’t know if that would work. (Squirrels are really brave! 😂)

Sometimes the pie pans work. My apple trees are near my kitchen window. I see a squirrel, I run out there with a broom. Ha My husband throws kitchen scraps in the garden which they check out. Then he places whole pecans over by the oak trees to keep them busy.

I may give it a try then. 🙂
Ooohhh, lol! That works too. 😂 My mom’s tree isn’t near our house, so I can’t look out a window. That is very convenient to have it right next to your window so you can keep an eye on it! 🙂
I do that too; usually the opossums get the scraps before the squirrels do though. 😂 Oh, pecans! I bet that’s quite a treat for them! 😀

You’re making me miss my old apple tree!

Aww. 🙂 ♥ If I may ask, what happened to it?

It was actually original to our property. So it was a very large and old one. Certain sections of it were diseased so we ended up cutting it down eventually. My sister and I had always wanted to build a tree house in it, but unfortunately that never happened. It was a great climbing tree though and we had a swing hanging from one of the branches, so we still were able to have lots of fun on it! And we also kept some of the wood, so I’ve been able to make small wood projects with it throughout the years.

Oohhh, that’s sad, but really cool that you kept some wood to make projects! What a way to lovingly remember it. 🙂 Wow, it must have been huge to consider putting a tree house in it! I think my mom’s is perhaps… 30 years old? (Whatever the case, I know it’s older than me. 😂) I bet it was fun not only to climb but just sit up there in the branches and eat freshly picked apples! 🙂
