This is one of the first poems I wrote this year. 🙂 Hope y’all are having a great weekend. ♥
Also, there is a Meet and Greet Weekend event happening on The Light Breaks Through, if any of you would like to check it out. 😀
In the Wink of an Eye
For so long I’d been dismal and dark
Each day, I puckered as if eating a sour tart
Never thought I was missing out on much
But then I felt my Savior’s loving touch
On my benumbed and dolorous heart
Inside I was filled with quartz crystal veins
In danger of shattering like a windowpane
Until in the wink of an eye
It miraculously returned to Life
And started beating once again
I struggled inside, simply to survive
I didn’t know how it was to be alive
All I was doing was existing
And foolishly continued resisting
When in Christ, I could have strived
From the murky shadows of the night
I was glum, defeated, and full of fright
I was driven to be able to see
And escape this sullen misery
And did, by finally turning on the Light
That was beautiful. I can’t wait to read more.
