I’ve wanted to participate in Three Line Tales for a while, and this time inspiration struck before the deadline. XD This is week thirty-eight, and here is the photo and my response. If you want to join in, just click the first link; the rules can be found there. 😉

We are boats and ships, lost at sea; the Lighthouse shows us the debris

So we don’t crash and sink in despair; the Light shows us the way there

Where we can find Heaven’s shore; and live with Him forevermore

      • Of the 74 original lighthouses that guided and guarded watercraft up and down the Chesapeake Bay, only 30 remain standing, and of those, 23 are still used as navigational aids (though predominantly through automated pulse). The Hooper Strait Light that I have privilege of “keeping” intermittently, was pushed off her moorings during an ice storm in 1881. Today she has been restored and serves as an educational beacon – in part through adventure overnights with school aged groups. The house that once kept sailors off the sandy shoals 5 miles from land is now drydocked at St. Michaels Maryland, a quaint little town on the Eastern Shore. The hexagonal lighthouse is perched at the water’s edge and performed admirably during our latest adventure, when 40 knot gusts and a driving rain battered on through the night, stirring up a froth of whitecaps and making chimes of the halyards I on the nearby skipjacks. It was exciting!!
