For me, there is nothing quite like a hike in the woods to bring me closer to Jesus. Being surrounded by His creation makes my heart sing praises to Him. One of my favorite things to do is take photos of the beauty He made and share them with others. I’ve been sharing lots of wild flowers, which is one of my favorite things to photograph; but here are other captured moments from my hikes this year. π
This moth reminds me of the Cross so much for obvious reasons. I love how He uses His creatures to remind us of Him and what He has done for us!
I love seeing wildlife; here are a few of my favorite sightings from this year so far:
This was the most shocking moment, I think:
Yes, that is a snake (king snake, nonpoisonous) eating another snake (copperhead; poisonous).Β Because one was busy eating and the other was busy being eaten, they couldn’t bite me, so I felt okay with getting close enough to take the photo. It was really gross but interesting at the same time. It’s not every day that you happen upon a Nature episode in person like this. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm forced me inside, so I didn’t get to watch long.Β π
Lastly, Arkansas had a lot of rain this summer, so it was an ideal time for getting mushroom photos:
I loved (for the most part) your pictures! The salamander is so cute! But, a word to the wise…the spider….not so good. Here’s what I’ve learned about spiders in my long life; https://thecomfortablecoop.wordpress.com/2016/10/03/spiders/ lol

Thank you! β₯
I loved your post. XD My weapon of choice is a plastic or glass jar. I slap it over the top of them before they know what happened and they can’t call for reinforcements. That’s what happened to the one in this photo. XD

I love it! The Cone of Silence! I’d try it but I’d have to be in the same zip code as the spider. I avoid that.

LOL, yes, The Cone of Silence! XD I typically slide something stiff under The Cone of Silence and turn it into a transparent prison until the spider can be relocated (and I can get photos). I can’t bear to give them the death sentence. I have a hard time killing anything. XD

Some great pics here! I’m not one for hiking, but I do love nature for the same reason you do. God has created so many interesting and beautiful things around us! Thanks for sharing…
